What I would like to know, are there any fees associated with the savings account? Do they try anything funny?
Post says WITHIN 60 days. Why's it so hard to read properly?
Now onto HSBC: I have an Advance Checking account opened in 2018 and it came with $400 bonus, with a minimum avg daily balance of 10,000. They suggested I move the entire amount to a CD so I get interest. The total of Checking+linked CD should be over 10K, All worked fine for an year until expiry of CD. After the CD expired, I asked them to move the CD amount with interest to Checking.
I am not sure the date I initiated transfer, but it looks like the incoming transfer to Checking was a day after my request. For obvious reasons, I am not able to see the CD anymore as it was closed.
After all this happened, I had a $25 charge for not maintaining minimum balance. All I did was move money between HSBC linked accounts. (FYI, I had a total balance of 11,400)
After, 45 minutes of chat explaining that even with a one day gap of not maintaining 10,000 would result in an avg balance of over $10K, they gave me a "One-time" "COURTESY" reversal of FEE.
So, be very careful with charges.
I know most ppl have only savings account here. But, I wanted to offer my experience.
