Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

I still haven't gotten the $125 bonus for opening the account. I followed all of the steps listed and it has been like 3 months since I opened the account. I need to know when to expect the bonus in my paypal account?

Try contacting [email protected]. send them your paypal ID, an email screenshot of the approval email from HSBC and wait a few days for response (they take a long time to reply to emails) they will confirm. Thats how I got it
I opened my account on the final day of the promotion, 22 JUL, and don't have the rebate in my PayPal. It's been 62 days, so I'm sending an email to [email protected] now.
The rebate team got right back to me and asked for my info. I messaged them right back with it and haven't heard a word in three days...
Let's play 'How long have you waited for these clowns to pay out?'
108 days and 4 emails later, and these incompetent fools still can't figure out how to pay me. I'm done. I've sent them an ultimatum. Legal action is ready to go if they do not comply this time. Sick of this smoke and mirrors BS. Time to pay up.

What exactly are they saying the issue is? Can you post the back and forth?

I won't post all of it, but here's each of their replies, which basically amounts to nothing.
(my first inquiry to them was August 10th, exactly 2 months since I was approved. Their first reply wasn't until the 22nd)
Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the delay- there has been an uptick in emails regarding this deal since it's expiration. Your bonus for this offer has been approved and will be sent in the next round of payouts, which we are trying to finalize and hopefully send by next week. Please let us know if you do not receive the bonus after next week.
Thank you for your patience!
2nd reply after another inquiry, Sept. 4th:
Hi,
Thank you for letting us know. We are reaching out to our HSBC team to have it included in the next round of payouts. Can you please let us know if you do not receive it by next week?
Thank you.
3rd reply after another inquiry, Sept. 18th:
Hi,
We understand the frustration and sincerely apologize for the delay. Our finance team sent the payment was sent on 8/23, but it did not go through. Another pay cycle will be processed on Friday, to be distributed by early next week.
Thank you for your patience.
My last reply to them was 2 days ago. As you can see, the only thing they know how to say is 'it'll be in the next payout' or 'it's coming next week'. It's been 'next week' for almost 2 months now. I feel like I'm stuck in some screwed up version of Groundhog Day with their stupid responses, and I'm really close to giving Ned Ryerson a haymaker, so to speak.

Hi,
We sent you an email on 9/26 asking for another PayPal email to send the bonus to, as our finance team has attempted to send the bonus on three separate occasions: 6/27. 8/23,9/23. Each time, the payment was rejected. Please check your email and send us an updated PayPal email so we can send you the bonus.

Yes, I did get your email about this. Not sure why PayPal is declining payment as the account is valid, but I did reply to you via said email and gave you a new email to try in the meantime. I'm seeing if I can get PayPal to sort out the other account, but they're rather difficult to reach out to.
HSBC's online banking website has been so horrible and difficult to use that I closed my account. First, the number of hoops I had to jump through to get my online username and password set up on my computer and phone were ridiculous. Random codes, different apps, some passcode that's different from my password -- so dumb and unintuitive. Then trying to add my external bank accounts to transfer money into HSBC was such a usability nightmare. I clicked into Transfers but there was no way to add accounts. Then I found some other Transfer link that opened an app/site in a new tab and that timed out no matter what I tried to do. So frustrating! HSBC lost out on my money.
I called HSBC at 800.975.4722 and request to close my account. They verified my information and closed it for me. They'll send me a paper check in the mail with my balance. There's a $25 fee to close before 6 months but I raised such a stink that the phone rep waived the fee.
I already opened an account with Vio Bank which has 2.42% interest rate on their Savings account. It took 2 tries to get approved but no trouble since then.
