I would personally buy the Husky 6ft adjustable table over this one because:
1. It goes on sale cheaper as I payed $225
2. Has a crank to adjust height on the fly. No need to manually adjust all four legs.
4x4s bend all the time. Just the way they dry out, are cured, and/or are flexed. Wood bends. Shoot, 2' thick trees bend, too!

Side note: I've had one of these for a few years in my basement. Great work bench!
You're comparing apples to oranges here. The 6' Husky crank version is rated to hold 300 lbs. The Gladiator is rated to hold 3,000 lbs. The Gladiator is meant for use in a garage while the Husky version you're referring to is meant to be used as an actual desk. Even the Husky version that has adjustable legs like the Gladiator (not crank) is rated for 2,300 lbs, which is less than the Gladiator.

I hear you on the crank, but would this be sturdier? Wish it included home delivery.

I bought two of these about 4 years ago - the first pair of them both bowed in the middle after a few months.. Gladiator has excellent customer service and replaced them both, and picked up the old ones. New ones have been fine. They said they had a bad batch at one point (years ago).

I bought one of these for the garage. It's so good looking, I'm afraid to put anything on it. Which is one way to keep the area clean.

How is it possible for 2" thick hardwood to bow?? Is it birch or maple?

I use one of these for my desk. It would be nice if the height was more easily adjustable, but this thing is rock-solid.

Not quite sure if the top is quite the same. Pretty sure mine is maple, not birch.

Regarding the bowing mentioned above...I know they do offer a lighter duty bamboo top version, maybe that's it? I cannot imagine what it would take for my desk to bow. In addition to the thick hardwood top, it has a hefty steel cross-piece in the back.

They use these exact tables in the design/creation labs of iFixit. Gladiator is also owned by Whirlpool corporation.

I have several of both types of tables and there is no question the gladiator is the premium table and would hold far more, however, those huskies are great as office desks.

Thin cardboard taped over the work surface will spare it, it is actually packed with a perfect sized piece which is easily secured with packing tape.

Can't say I've EVER seen a 4x4 in Maple. Not only would it be CRAZY expensive but VERY hard to dry. I hope you're not comparing this wood to pine/fur.
