Nice post. I have this unit. It works well with or without the battery. It's my only Ridgid item so I use it without the battery. Should have included a small 18v and charger with it at normal price when I bought it. At this price, it's SD.

Surely it can't put out all that many BTU's off a 4Ah 18V Battery. Even with a 120V plugin, it's putting out just over 5k BTU's. So really this is a 30-60k BTU propane heater, with a battery backup? I guess better than nothing if a power outage happens in cold weather. Maybe keep the pipes from freezing overnight. Would be ok to keep a spare BBQ tank around and you'd have a decent amount of uptime.
This is a propane heater that uses a battery, or 120 to run the "FORCED AIR", aka fan to circulate the heat.... The battery isn't actually used to heat coils, like an electric heater.....

Good, if like thedarsts said, you can find it. None within 100 miles near me.....

No problem. Also though, because it is a propane heater, it shouldn't be used inside. Garage with the garage door open a foot or so, but it puts out too much CO to be safely used in an enclosed area.

The battery only serves to run the blower fan in the event you dont have access to 110v power. Heat comes from burning LP gas only, not from the battery. The unit works great, heating my 2-car garage even when it's -15F outside. I only used it once off battery power to see how it works, it works GREAT!

Can this be used like gasbuddy for camping (safety perspective)?

Ack. Why do resurrect old threads.

It attached to a propane bottle. The 18v is for the forced air
