This is quote straight from Duracell's website. I'm guessing it pretty much pertains to all non rechargeable batteries as rechargeable batteries are the ones that all battery manufacturers state that need to be recycled.

Our alkaline batteries are composed primarily of common metals—steel, zinc, and manganese—and do not pose a health or environmental risk during normal use or disposal. We have voluntarily eliminated all of the added mercury from our alkaline batteries since the early 1990s, while maintaining the performance consumer's demand. Therefore, alkaline batteries can be safely disposed of with normal household waste, everywhere but California.

These batteries are hit and miss. Some work very well, others not as long.

But at $7.15/48 = 0.149/ea, it is a good price.

Compare to AmazonBasics, which is $10.62/48 = 0.221/ea

So even if you have to throw away as much as 16 batteries from the Insignia 48 pack, you're still getting them for
$7.15/32 = 0.223/ea, effectively same price as Amazon.

They're only $7.99 without the subscription. That's what I opted for.

These batteries are terrible. They barely last a day with my son vs the ones I bought at BJs last at much longer.

Even in one of those Thomas the tank battery powered ones it would die after a couple of hours. The original battery in there was almost 8 years old when we put one of these batteries in and even then the older battery performed better

Horrible luck with this brand batteries. They only last about 25% of the regular brand like Duracell and then only in the devices they actually work in as they dont work in about 50% of my sons toys, dont work in 100% of our smoke detectors.

These are terrible batteries. About a third of the life of any quality name brand battery.

They are fine for Xbox controllers. Ever since they restricted Best Buy rewards certificates from being used on gift cards, I don't shop here as much. Going to burn my last certificates on these, thanks.

Looks like free shipping is only on the "Easy Replenish" option.
