The Conway Airmega 400 [amazon.com] is the lowest it has ever been via CCC.

This is the "upgrade pick" from NYT's Wirecutter [thewirecutter.com] review website.

Lots of strong reviews out there that say the main downside is the price (which was originally around $700). This sale can help alleviate that.

One of the reviews said it does...on a side note found another funny q&a on the product page that made me rotl:

A: It filters out over 99% of particulates, but it is not so hot on filtering out unpleasant odors. I farted near it, and a half hour later the smell was still in the air. It has a lighted circle than changes colors depending upon the intensity of the toxins or odor in the room. As soon as it smelled the fart it changed from blue (the best air) to purple (worse air) and then to violet (even worse). So that is proof it can smell farts.

Great price. I have this exact model in my house and have been using it for 2 years. Filters are a bit pricey and it's a bit loud (it really does move some air!), but this air cleaner does exactly what it's intended to. It removes dust better than anything I've seen. I'd rate it 5 stars!

I have several Winnix air purifiers that have that similar feature. Farting next to them has practically become a sport in our household to see how far you can make the indicator go and how fast the blower ramps up. They do filter odor quite well too. 😂

Great price. I have this exact model in my house and have been using it for 2 years. Filters are a bit pricey and it's a bit loud (it really does move some air!), but this air cleaner does exactly what it's intended to. It removes dust better than anything I've seen. I'd rate it 5 stars!

The link goes to the airmega 400 which is the previous generation. The 400s (WiFi capable) is about 100 more... still a great deal

Can anyone give feedback on this VS Austin Air healthmate? Austin uses a ton of carbon in their filters which's helps with smoke odors. I'm concerned this one won't filter smoke and odors as well.
