Just my personal opinion, but most people don't really need the sapphire version of this. You have to be a real brute and careless (dare I say) idiot to break the regular mineral glass on these watches. They have an enormous steel\titanium bezel that sticks out way past the watch glass and prevents most things from hitting the glass, plus the glass is so small in comparison to a cell phone watch and is much less likely to get damaged by things.

I've had a Fenix 3 HR with the regular (non-sapphire) glass for over 2 years now and the glass is flawlessly perfect. I don't have a screen protector on it and wear it 24x7 except when i'm showering.

You can also find a tempered glass "cover" for the watch face too if you want added protection (similar to the phone version). I have a 3HR and got one for mine.

I bought a non-tempered one for mine but never put it on. I was going to get a tempered one but saw a lot of poor reviews on them where people said they kept peeling up or sliding off of their screen. Any issues with yours? Which did you get?
