Is the 2700 good enough to drive an ultra wide 120hz display (e.g., like the Alien Ware AW3418DW 3440x1440) assuming a 2080/2080ti is driving it?
I have a 2700 paired with a 1080ti which is comparable to the 2080. I haven't ran a bench in a while but Im usually around 130+ fps on high settings for most newer games at 1440p. Ultra settings I believe are down around 100-120fps
Of course, there's better options out there but the 2700 is a good bang for your buck processor. Im pretty sure the ryzen 5 2600x benches better and is cheaper but it's 6 core, 12 thread vs 8 core, 16 thread that the 2700 has

With that kind of res you will absolutely need a 2080Ti just to try to push 120 fps in AAA titles like battlefield v but I would not waste a 2700 on a 2080Ti. That's a mismatch, even the 8700K is better for gaming.
If you want a CPU for gaming, get an Intel with higher core clock.
Gaming depends on the game. Some games are more CPU dependent than others. If you dont ask for the exact game you are looking for, the fps will not be meaningful to you.

Great prices though. But really if you care about getting those games buy from someone else.

*btw if you aren't buying a separate cooler it's worth the extra $15 for that alone
