Oh, okay....the post is VERY misleading then. It didn't cost you $2/mo, it cost you $15/mo ($2 additional per month OVER YOUR PREVIOUS COST FOR xFi ADVANTAGE). You already have a high plan with the required fast wifi speeds so no need for the speed boost but I can't avoid that charge. So it looks like I'm still getting the best I can get on it.
Just an FYI. Cancel one box and get a Roku and watch for free through the Roku and save $10 or more a month on the box you're paying for. FYI, it does not count towards your data watching through your Roku Xfinity Stream Beta App.
WTF is xFi Advantage? Never even heard the term before

Nevermind, found it

If you're an xFi Advantage customer with Xfinity you can get a 3-pack of xFi Pods for free ($119 RV). Usually you have to complete a 2-week wifi assessment and you must meet certain criteria.

I called to complain to Comcast and the CSR just gave me the link to get them for free, without doing the assessment and waiting two weeks.

For me, xFi Advantage was an additional $2/mo and includes unlimited data. They were charging me $50/mo for unlimited data before! I'm actually saving money with this plan. If you're paying extra for unlimited data you should call. YMMV & GL
Do you have to use their modem/router for the xFi to work?

So i'm not using xfinity wifi. Am I eligible for this?
You need to have xFi gateway (a device) from Xfinity to be eligible.

OP, how'd you get a $2/mo cost!?

Right now I'm paying $15/mo for xFi Advantage and that's after the REQUIRED speed bump up to a minimum 400mbps for $20/mo...so in total they've got me at $35/mo.

Should I call?

I was renting the gateway for $13/mo and paying $50/mo for unlimited data. By going to the xFi Advantage plan at $15/mo I'm only paying $2 more per month and saving $50 since the Advantage plan includes unlimited data (and the pods, etc.). I wish they would have told me about this plan six months ago.

I'm on 1 gig speed plan FWIW.

It just let me order and I'm using my own Arris modem. Hope I don't get charged.

I put that in the post, for me it's an additional $2/mo but, yes, overall $15 for the plan.

Hopefully you can take advantage of the free pods at least since it's included in your plan.

I don't have the xFi advantage plan but I have the 1gb/s plan. Went ahead and ordered it anyway. Do I need to have an extra add on to my internet only package for me to use the xFi pods?

Edit: I am using the xfinity router

So, how much are you paying for your internet overall?

You're only paying 35 dollars for internet? I think ATT is ripping me off.
