Unlimited data with XFi advantage only applies to the central region (which is really southeast to midwest).
If you own your own modem, the cost increase is +$15/month because you must rent Comcast's gateway in order to use XFi advantage (and these pods).
You get unlimited data if you have XFI advantage (otherwise it's +$50/month).
You need to be on a 250 Mbps or above plan to get the +$15/month deal.
You can pick up the gateway from a Comcast store or have it shipped to you for self-install (otherwise it's $70 for a technician to come out).

I called to complain to Comcast and the CSR just gave me the link to get them for free, without doing the assessment and waiting two weeks.

For me, xFi Advantage was an additional $2/mo and includes unlimited data. They were charging me $50/mo for unlimited data before! I'm actually saving money with this plan. If you're paying extra for unlimited data you should call. YMMV & GL

Right now I'm paying $15/mo for xFi Advantage and that's after the REQUIRED speed bump up to a minimum 400mbps for $20/mo...so in total they've got me at $35/mo.
Should I call?

Hopefully you can take advantage of the free pods at least since it's included in your plan.
Edit: I am using the xfinity router
