Unlimited data with XFi advantage only applies to the central region (which is really southeast to midwest).
If you own your own modem, the cost increase is +$15/month because you must rent Comcast's gateway in order to use XFi advantage (and these pods).
You get unlimited data if you have XFI advantage (otherwise it's +$50/month).
You need to be on a 250 Mbps or above plan to get the +$15/month deal.
You can pick up the gateway from a Comcast store or have it shipped to you for self-install (otherwise it's $70 for a technician to come out).

Hopefully you can take advantage of the free pods at least since it's included in your plan.
Thanks for the post though, I should be able to take advantage and save some money on current wifi setup!
For me, I had to pay $20/mo additional for increase to 400mbps.
EDIT: You hopefully can AT LEAST remove the $50 unlimited and replace it with $35 for modem + unlimited + speed increase.
What does xFi Advantage Service costs monthly and how to terminate as well?

No modem/gateway rental
I was paying like $60 before this
Unbundling might be a bit cheaper but not worth the hassle IMO.

If you are in Western region, you get modem rental, "advanced security" and the WiFi pods for $15/month extra, but no data. Unlim Data is still $50/month or with business plans.
It's lame that Xfi advantage does different things in different areas but that's Comcast. They have almost no competition in West because CenturyLink is total garbage.

I'd say that while the average xfinity customer probably leases their modem/router through xfinity; that's likely not the case for this site, most of us on here do our own home networking.
