Laboratory tests are not available for purchase in Maryland. For specialty tests, kits cannot be shipped to a Pennsylvania address due to state laws and some additional restrictions may apply in the state of New York.
For conventional tests, Residents of NY, NJ, RI, MD and MA cannot have their blood drawn at LabCorp. People residing in these states will receive a blood draw kit. The kits cannot be taken to LabCorp; however, most local hospitals can provide blood draws on an out-patient basis. Extra fees for processing and packing your specimens may apply and are your responsibility. [If you live in one of the restricted states,] you will receive a script for the blood draw signed by a doctor in our network. You will also receive all of the necessary blood draw tubes, instructions, and a pre-paid shipping label. Please note that most of the samples will need to be centrifuged prior to shipment, so you will need to find a facility that can draw, process, and pack the blood for you.
Do you go to one of their location for them to draw blood?

This is a basic set of labs, but that's all you need for general screening. Gives you an idea of what's going on with kidney/liver/electrolyte function. In addition to the lipid profile for all those following a Keto diet, here's your chance to see if 3 lbs of bacon a week is good or bad. Also you're getting the CBC, which looks at the quantity and morphology of your blood cells.
All of this is next to useless if you don't have someone to interpret any abnormal info for you though. But if you have a primary care or someone you trust to go over results with you, you can take them the labs. I've had patients bring me these printed labs before and I applaud them for it! I don't care if they get their labs drawn by our clinic, I just want them to be proactive in their own health! And saving potentially hundreds of dollars in the process.
Many insurance companies have a lab deductible, so this panel, plus a draw fee could be $300 out of pocket alone. Then tack on your office visit to get the results interpreted, and if you haven't met deductible there, that can be another $150-250 too!
Again, these are great!
In for one! (Because I haven't met my deductible yet, ha!)

Thanks, I'm later 20s but last time I had a checkup was about four years ago and I've drank a lot of beer since then lol. Seem perfectly healthy tho. I can compare the new results to they ones from a couple years ago.
