Never heard of this brand. Would someone familiar consider this on par with a kamado Joe or would it have less accessories and engineered more similar to the big Green egg? I would imagine more like the BGE, not many of these kamados are close to the Joe for that price.

From all my reading and visual comparison, this is identical to the Pit boss K24.

I picked this up last week for this price at my local Costco. This thing is super heavy. The Costco guy used a forklift to put it on the bed and it took 2 of us to put it on a dolly and drag it to the patio. It's very sturdy. The stand and the side tables are heavy and feel sturdy. I will be using it this weekend Smilie if you don't have a pick up - I highly recommend getting this delivered for additional fee

Not at all like the Kamado Joe with their new hinges, gaskets, deflector plate system, etc. It is a standard kamado but a good deal at $500 my buddy has one and it's holding up great so far.

Louisiana Grills and Pit Boss are the same company. I bought the Pit Boss last year and its awesome for the money. I recently got a Kamado Joe and it is waaaay nicer. But it's also 4 times the price. This is comparable to a big green egg XL.

I have a Pit Boss 24 (same model/factory in China) from years ago and it is holding up fine. Buy it if you just want a barebones experience. The Kamado Joe is better in almost every other way than price.

I purchased one last month and cooked with it a few times before returning it last weekend. The food tasted great and I really enjoyed using it. While cleaning out the ashes I discovered a crack starting from the side of the bottom damper going around to the underside of the kamado. I contacted the manufacturer who was very willing to send me a new bottom replacement. Ultimately I decided to return the grill to Costco because the manufacturer stated that even though my manual says the ceramic has a lifetime warranty, they have since amended the terms on their website so that any grills purchased in 2019 will only have a 5 year warranty on ceramics.

It is still a great grill for the price and I so wouldn't discourage anyone from buying it. I personally didn't like the fact that the manufacturer didn't want to stand by their original warranty. These grills are cheaper than KJ, BGE, etc and I believe it is because they don't have the same quality control. If you read the manual you will see that you are instructed to do a slow burn in which means that these grills are not being tested at the factory for inherent defects. Perhaps production has ramped up in China so the build quality may not be as good as previous generations. If they were built to last then the manufacturer would not have had to change the terms of the warranty. Just my 2 cents.
