    Are TCL TVs considered better quality than Toshibas? I'm in the market for a TV but kind of lost. I would have thought Toshiba was better just because it's a better known brand

    I purchased the 43" model and after 1 week of usage.. mainly used the built in UI- the fire tv for Netflix and prime video... turning it on it was going berserk the screen was not damaged at all by me but the user interface was all over the place I looked up online and see it's a common/defective issue I was lucky it happened within the return period. We kept the box too luckily in the backyard before the trash were collected.. all said and done I exchanged it and it's been working fine for 2 weeks now.. but be cautious and keep the box for the first 2 weeks!

    The TLCs are better out-of-the-box if you get a good one. There is a wide range in panel quality and people are making multiple returns until they get a panel without banding. There are also people reporting early hardware failures after a relatively short ownership period. I've seen great TCL reviews edited three months latter complaining about dead HDMI ports etc. If I knew I could get a good TCL (better HDR) I would but for $300 this might be nice
