That is not true. VPN traffic is encrypted unless you choose not to. But you will lose anonymity using home VPN.

and sometimes pia servers have HIGH latency no matter where in the world i connect.

Not a bad deal but I got a Windscribe Lifetime membership for $60 and have been really happy with the service after switching from PIA (this one). The Windows application also seems less buggy than PIA. Still a decent deal if you want PIA.

TorGuard is 49.99 for two years with code SAVE. I just switched to them after being a PIA customer for years and am happy so far. I read the wire cutter review and did some other research... Hopefully that helps someone!
