Costco currently has the Generac XT8000EFI on sale for $200 off. This is a gasoline only engine with a starting wattage of 10k and a running wattage of 8k. It features electronic fuel injection, so not carburetor to get gummed up from gasoline sitting in it too long. Although not an inverter, it does feature automatic voltage regulation to provide clean power for electronics. I'm considering upgrading my 15 year old Troy-Bilt 5500w to be better prepared from hurricane season. The manufacture rebate is good from 05/31 to 06/07. This thing weighs over 200lbs, so the free shipping is a plus.

Anyone have thoughts on this deal? I see many people go crazy over "the beast" deals and similar. This has triple fuel vs dual fuel or just gasoline.

As of Oct. 25th 2019, Costco has NO Generac XT8000EFI generators available. Unlike Amazon, they don't allow you to purchase back-ordered items. I called Generac HQ, and a sales guy there said "We'll be sending out more to Costco in mid-November."

Will it start a electric motor that draws 11KW just to start and then the needed power drops substantially.
