Great deal. Make sure to turn off recurring billing to just be charged the $1.

Try to find some cheap XBOX Live subs to maximize the deal BEFORE YOU BUY IT. Ultimate combines the amount of months you have left on Live + Game Pass.

This is not a glitch. This is how it's meant to work. I am in the preview program and can confirm.

After seeing that the XBPA games are already available, I did the conversion.
My details:
XBLG: 3/15/2021 expiration
XBGP: 6/10/2020 expiration (redeemed two 6 month cards today)

After conversion:
XBGPU: 4/15/2022 expiration (they combined the full year to my XBL expiration date and then added the 1 month for the XBGPU 1 month offer)

As part of the subcription to XBGPU, I had to enable recurring billing.
I'm assuming this is because they don't have a prepaid option for XBGPU, as I was never forced to enable it for XBLG.

I cancelled recurring billing and I got the following notice (two separate pop up boxes warning me and confirming that my subscription is good until 4/15/2022

Are you sure?

You'll lose access to your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on April 15, 2022, when we don't charge again.
I'm wondering if the people who see the weird conversion rates are trying to add to an existing XBGPU subscription (i.e. they already converted and now trying to redeem XBL cards for a 1:1 conversion ratio).

2 or 3? Someone said in the previous page 2 was the max.
Definitely 3 years. I just did. The folks saying 2 years probably made the mistake of accepting the extra 1-month for turning on recurring billing. If you do that, then it won't let you redeem the last 12-month code cause your total time will go over 3 years.

Quick check before i act on this guys, let me know if I got this right.
- Xbox Live good til 3/16/20
-Game Pass good til 11/16/19.

That means i have a total of 14 months right? Signing up for Ultimate would put me at 15 months. So, should I buy 2 years of Gold, putting me at 39 months and just eat the 3 months to maximize my Ultimate expiration date? Do I have the math right and would that be the best route?

Costco 2 years of live for $95 the best deal going right now?

Do you mind linking to where it says that? Thanks!
The direct quote comes from windows central. I'm on mobile so forgive me if my formatting sucks. https://www.windowscentral.com/ho...s-ultimate

The ultimate game pass FAQ isn't loading for me anymore, but on the overview this is the line causing confusing.
"All conversions to Ultimate are final: Once converted, you cannot re-convert your Ultimate membership back to a previous membership. Maximum 36 months of redeemed Ultimate per account at a time, including any converted time from Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass (for PC or console)."

I talked to a rep on chat support and they said once it expires or is cancelled you can go back to using gold. All of your prepaid time is converted and will not convert back. And while the subscription is still active any codes redeemed will also be converted to match the ultimate game pass. So to go back to gold, from what I can tell, ultimate game pass needs to expire or be cancelled and then you can go back to regular gold.

Yes, some people jumped on the deal before realizing it was more efficient to top up Gold and/or Game Pass first, and have plugged in codes after switching to Ultimate. Repeating a previous table that I posted based on observations from other users:
  • 1 month Gold = $10 MSRP = 2/3 of a month of Ultimate
  • 3 months Gold = $25 MSRP = 1 month of Ultimate
  • 6 months Gold = $40 MSRP = ??? months of Ultimate
  • 12 months Gold = $60 MSRP = 4 months of Ultimate
  • 24 months Gold = ??? MSRP = 8 months of Ultimate
This information is useful to those that mistakenly upgraded to Ultimate already, and potentially also for future deals on Gold/Game pass codes that could be used to top up Ultimate subscriptions (although it would seem the conversion rates will make this an inefficient route to go).

From the example it looks like it does, that's where it gets interesting. I guess I'm gonna get another year of gold then do this here in a bit
