This is well worth owning. One of the finest pieces of writing in all of television history.

I've got the widescreen and the original. The widescreen is insanely better quality. It's not even close. It's reframed, not just a standard crop. For example, the episode with the timer has a completely redone clock placed in the screen. All the footage is also remastered. There's no comparison. This is the version to own. Seasons 1-4 of the original DVD / SD version is horrendous quality. This is a remaster and its amazing definition for a series from 1972-1983. The greatest show ever made. The laugh track is tolerable to not have to deal with the unacceptable video quality of all previous releases. Enjoy!

PS Hulu has this for free if you're a subscriber no need to buy. The remaster was first released there.

wouldn't mind this as i grew up on MASH. i just hate digital copy. Cause if they close the source then you are S.O.L. and have no way to getting a digital source. think i will wait for the Physical copy.

Reading some the reviews it lacks some things. Not certain if you can view in original aspect ratio or remove laugh track. I have a downloaded version and a very different vibe when no laugh track.

That was one of the nice things about Ultra Violet locker -- it could hold TV shows too. I wish MA would expand to cover TV shows, but I doesn't seem to be coming any time soon.

Yes, this is a good point. I'm not too surprised that there is no option to remove the laugh track, but not having the original square aspect ratio is kind of unforgivable to me.

Have you guys watched the movie and listened to the words of the opening song? Definitely not the same cheery/funny mood of the TV show!

As a person in his mid-thirties who is peripherally interested in this show, is this worth it? Is it funny? Can it keep up with the likes of the other good shows out now like The Office, etc? Serious post, genuinely curious.
