Obviously they want you to stay with them. This is a great deal if you already have an account with them. I have done it 5 times. You end up paying about 150-200 after getting the big rebate for an xr.
Big rebate? I thought it gives you bill credits over 24 months?
Not sure if they changed it but for the previous deals, if you bought directly from Costco and walk out with an iPhone device, you would get a mail in rebate. If you buy from tmobile, OR of you buy at Costco for the phone to be shipped to you, you would be stuck with bill credits.
Regarding Costco, here is what I read in the fine print: Get up to $700 back via trade-in credit & Virtual Express Prepaid Mastercard® Card issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated
How have you done this 5 times? Do you have that many people you can port in for new lines?

I think many users will pass
Costco deal used to be one time bill credit and rest with prepaid card which you will receive may be in 2 months time frame. Once you receive that you can cancel the line. I did it last time.
The other option was paying upfront for the phone but was given a minimum 6 months with the line before canceling.
The deal with TMobile is different which is bill credits for 24 months. From Costco you will pay the full price when you buy it.
I'm referring to the extra line required. I was at Costco when I inquired about it. That adds up.
