Apple just refreshed their MacBook line and is giving students $100 off + free Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones ($349 MSRP). Add in the $100 price drop on the MBA entry model and this is a steal!
Alternately you can get the refreshed MBP that now has Touch Bar on all models starting at $1199 for students.

This deal is for students and online orders are verified through UniDays or in-store with student ID.
Here's a challenge to all the Apple haters who are going to bash this post: Rather than tell me that Apple products are overpriced show me a link with a comparable windows laptop with similar physical attributes. Aluminum housing, thin and light, and 10 hour battery life, then include a link to a comparable noise cancelling headphone and
let's see if the total price is less than a grand.

I enjoy both PC and Macs, and i did look into the challenge since I'm deciding on whether I should upgrade or not (and which platform to go with). The important thing to realize regarding the challenge's premise is that the current deal is a special promotion, meaning not the regular price (esp the free headphones part), so to be fair, we have to look at special promo prices of comparable windows PCs.
A quick search on SD shows that BB sold a similarly spec'ed Surface Laptop 2 at $750 about 2 weeks ago. The SL2 probably has the best metal build from a Windows laptop, so we will go with that for the physical attributes part. https://slickdeals.net/f/13169680-microsoft-surface-laptop-2-13-5-touch-screen-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-128gb-solid-state-drive-latest-model-platinum-lql-00001-best-buy-749-99?v=1&src=Site
You can now buy a Surface Headphones (also noise cancelling, quality should be on par with Beats studio 3) for $250 from Microsoft today. https://www.microsoft.c
So in theory, you could get comparable hardware with the same budget (buy the laptop 2 weeks ago, then headphones today or whenever MSFT started the sale a few days ago), and we don't know what Microsoft has for back to school promotions yet.
I'm not bashing your post because I agree this is a fantastic deal for a student who wants a new macbook and a pair of headphones, but I do want to point out that with the current lineup of Surface Laptops, you can find comparable hardware on the windows platform at a comparable price point. The difference still comes down to how well integrated you are in each ecosystem and personal preference of the software. Thanks for finding this deal and enjoy your new computer!
But - I was going to point out the Beats headphones are the ones that are vastly overpriced!

To be fair - when they've done that in the past the savings was like $50...this is $100 + a $350 headphone so they may ask to see proof in-store.

ASUS ZENBOOK 13 is pretty close I think. It's got similar specs and is a bit thinner/lighter. It's $799 a few places. Not a clue on the headphones though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FW7D635

Edit: Also, note the headphones go on sale for $200 per previous Slickdeals. So consider that in the pricing calculations, rather than $350 MSRP.
