I own this, got on a previous deal for maybe $135. Solid beginner bass. Came pretty well intonated out of the box. I mostly screw around with a small amp and Rocksmith, would recommend for a hobbyist.

Paid 150 shipped back in Feb. Great bass for the price! I'm a guitar player but love having a bass to practice on... This is perfect for that use.

I bought this last time the deal was offered. I''m very happy with it. I put more money in to the bass amplifier. When my bass playing gets good enough I'll buy a tits bass.

Bought this base locally, about a year ago, and it's solid. I always get compliments on it. Paired it with a 300W Fender amp.😍

nice! I've been looking for a cheap bass to mess around with, and this looks to fit the bill.

I looked at some reviews and it sounds like it needs a 9v battery, which sounds weird (and could get somewhat annoying), but overall the reviews look solid so I'm in for one.

thanks for posting!

Hey guys, is this a good bass for someone that has never played a bass guitar before? I practice on Rocksmith with an electric guitar but I'm really interested in trying out a bass guitar.

Great deal, great entry level bass.

Wish the promo worked on the GSR205B (weathered black), I've had my eye on that thing for a while. Would like to pay less than $200 for it.

I'd strongly recommend taking $200 and buying a used bass in the $350 MSRP range. Specifically I recommend the Yamaha TRBX304 or the RBX374 model that came before it. I've been playing bass for almost twenty years, and I still find those basses great. The Ibanez GIO gets you in the game for cheap, but I wouldn't want to keep one even if someone gave it to me. The active bass boost is a pretty worthless feature for most. The most important part of an active EQ for bass is a mid frequency and level stack. For bass only EQ, the 9V battery is just an inconvenience. A good bass player can make even a piece of shit sound pretty good, but just my 2 cents to pay a tiny more now, and have a bass you want to keep. If you are in an extremely rural environment and can't find used basses, then at least the GIO would get you started.
