Will these work with an existing Google WiFi mesh network? Like can I add them into a 3 node seamless network for a 5 node seamless network?

Yes. It can be used to join the existing Google mesh network. You have to upgrade the newest version.

yes it works with any service provider like any other router

your service provider modem plugs into one google wifi router, plug power in the other one and stick somewhere far-ish away and set up mesh, now you have mesh coverage

Can these be set up as a mesh system on their own?

Yes, I have two of these TP-Link OnHub routers without any Google mesh routers. In fact, I believe these are ac1900 wireless while the Google mesh "discs" are ac1200.

You might need to update their firmware before they'll work. I have two of the TP-Link ones and before adding the second router I had to update the firmware on the newer one by installing it as the only router in the network. After getting the router updated I could then add it to the network.

I'm tempted to get this deal to move up to a 4 node network but my two node network has been flawless so far.
