I got the blink xt2 sale from prime day. I've tried quite a few different security camera devices, a blink device on sale surpasses pretty much everything else on the market. The fact that the cameras are battery powered means you can put them anywhere. People who complain about difficulties or activation issues have not dealt with other security cameras. The default settings are meant to be ultra power saving, I cranked the video duration to 60 seconds and lowered the re-arm time. I'm fine with replacing batteries every few months to get everything captured. The difference between the xt and xt2 is the xt2 has double the battery life and two way speakers. I ordered a single stand alone xt from woot to patch a blind spot in my monitoring. In all, $160 and I have complete camera coverage and don't need to worry about storage/etc.

Obviously we need our time machine to go back to Prime Day's $99 for the 2-camera system of XT2. But this is a pretty good deal for what you can get at the moment.

Obviously we need our time machine to go back to Prime Day's $99 for the 2-camera system of XT2. But this is a pretty good deal for what you can get at the moment.

Got the two pack on prime day as well, still waiting for it to arrive though! Must have been quite popular.

I'm up to 5 Blink cameras. 3 from the original XT kit (through Woot) and then I grabbed a 2 camera XT2 kit from Prime day and now have 5. Very nice system for basic camera coverage.

Installation is pretty darn easy. Setup the cameras in the app before you go outside. Get them online and working near your router. It will make life easier as you will likely get an update installed on the camera (default whenever you add a camera to the app). That can take a long time on a bad connection.

Video is clear and is saved in the app. You can choose to dump it at regular times or keep things for up to a year, subject to storage limits. I think this is a great bit of hardware/software for inexpensive home security video.

I second this, the XT2 has a better activity zone, better battery life and 2 way speakers. Plus they were basically the same price the other day.

If you don't require battery powered cameras that are suitable for outdoor use, the wyze cameras are cheaper and a little more feature rich.
