I think it's pretty close.
I like the 1tb SSD over the other one along w/ the 9th gen
the 1070 isn't WAY better like the other user posted.

and I have no clue how this statement is true:

I wouldn't call the 1070 a 'much better' card.. the 1660ti often matches it in real world play. Also the MSi is 9th gen CPU and has a full SSD. The only clear advantage the HP has is it's size and screen. I'd say they're comparable deals..

No, spec wise the HP is better. For gaming, the HP has a much better video card (GTX 1070). The HP really is a slick deal.

Of course comparisons can be wrong but this says the 1660TI is comparable to the older 1070 model. It also says TPU is 20W less. Of course most folks gaming are plugged in...

MSI doesn't have gsync monitor...that's a huge difference when using a mediocre gpu to play recent games..ssd can be upgraded for what 100 to 150 more?? I would get this deal over the msi anyday if I was in need of a gaming laptop...screen size is also bigger which is a plus for gaming laptop.

not to mentioned 120hz vs 144hz.. how are the two even comparable deal...? it's not even close when we are talking about "gaming laptops"...8th vs 9th gen cpu is negligible btw.

Thinking bout pulling the trigger on this one boys- what say you? Will be using it for medium gaming, music, and movies- nothing serious but i want a semi-future proof option. Love the size of that screen btw....

They referring to the SSD. I don't think this is a great deal just because of the fact all your storage is HDD and boot is SSD.
