Yes it's easily shuckable. You stick a bunch of credit cards into the enclosure and then pry on it with a screw driver and it pops off. Look up a video online
Marketing. EasyStore is a Best Buy exclusive "brand". Many of the big manufacturers have models / lines that are exclusive to specific retailers. This helps keep prices higher than they should be because it stops price matching and makes it harder to do simple search on model numbers.

The drives inside any of the Easystore / Elements will be dependent on the batch and date they were assembled. WD changes what is inside occasionally.
I bought both and found that these are the same drives, with the same model number (WD100EMAZ-00WJTA0).

For those who missed it yesterday, there's also an 8TB for $125 AC (limit 2). Decided $70 more for 4TB (for two drives) wasn't quite worth it for me and stuck with the 8TB.

These, like the 8TB model, are WD RED (white label) drives and are shuckable?

Considering it's external that makes no sense

The Bestbuy version is not the same drive. BB sells Easystore, with different part number. Not sure if they are the same internal drive, but I recall that previous models of "Elements" was not shuckable.

This version is. I shucked it and put it in my server with no issues.

I'm unfamiliar with gaming system external hard drive (if it needs something specific/if some kinds doesn't work). My xbox one would need more memory in a few months. Would this item work with it? Are there others more recommended in the gaming world?
