Costco is going to have a sale on these Lorex for $700 starting next week. https://www.costco.com/Lorex-8-Ch...99244.html
Can you give an insight on these cheaper Lorex vs the LaView posted here? LaView for the same set up would cost $178 more plus 2TB HD cost. (I know we are comparing dome vs bullet too). Thanks advance for your input. Waiting for your reply.

I was comparing it to the kit in this post: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
The image quality of the bullet cameras from the soon-to-be $700 kit was absolutely terrible compared to the rectangular camera from that thread. I mainly wanted to try out the person and vehicle smart detection hoping it would cut down on false alerts but I was thoroughly disappointed. The images on the box are misleading as well. It shows a "Person" notification with a still image preview similar to how Nest does motion notifications. The iPhone app has nothing like that and just sends a text notification for motion, person or vehicle. The only thing it has over the 16ch 9x4k camera kit is the Google Assistant compatibility which is more of a novelty.

As for the Costco kit, one thing that strikes me is that if you go looking for detailed specs on it, good luck! The only spec I could find on the cameras was this [lorextechnology.com] and it's a bit Mickey Mouse. For one thing, not much information on supported protocols.
i am not sure if they are the same, only re-branded.
