No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

What year do u need your Ford to be? I dont think my 2017 F150 XLT has a WIFI module built in.
No it wouldn't, the 2017 F-150 had Sync Connect available, but that was just allowing you to start/lock/unlock/locate your truck from the FordPass app. 2018+ F-150s had Sync Connect + Wifi that allowed for hotspot functionality.

My 2017 XLT had Sync Connect, my current 2019 Lariat has the Hotspot version so I just got this.

Only thing that stinks is we have a 2019 Escape with the hotspot and I considered adding it to that as well thinking it would be $10/mo since I now have the $15/mo primary, but it shows it would also be $15/mo. Not sure we need it that bad on the Escape as well.

Can anyone in TX comment on whether there are any extra fees/taxes on top of the $15/month?
My current plan is $20 on my Ford. It shows. .07¢ state tax every month. $20.07 total.

My Acura TLX comes up as a compatible vehicle but the VIN cannot be found by AT&T web site. I am entering the correct VIN so that's not the issue.

Does anyone know how else to check vehicle compatibility? The link gives me an error and doesn't let me select a year to start searching. I have a 2015 Toyota highlander.

Too bad no Tesla. Seems like it would be safer to surf going down the freeway hands free rather than sleeping.

Hi All,

These are the vehicles that have built-in hotspots available: https://www.att.com/plans/connected-car.html

If your vehicle's not on the list, you can use the AT&T Spark (add'l purchase) to plug in your vehicle's OBD port in order to get this deal.

whats the benefit of this if my phone plan has unlimited data?
If you want to use wifi devices like an ipad in the car and your phone plan is limited on the hotspot usage, this is better

I'm a very techy guy but I don't understand why i would need this or others.
I just use my Hotspot on my phone if i need wifi connectivity and i have a Tablet i pay 10 and month to be on my unlimited data plan.

Is it because i could just use my apps on entertainment unit (Like MyLink) without using my phone? Not saying it's a bad deal but what is the main use for using built in wifi, enlighten me.
When you have kids with cheap tablets and you need peace and quiet on a road trip.

For some reason, I'm not seeing this $15 deal being offered to Acura owners. Audi is the other one I've seen so far without the deal... Here's the Acura page: https://myvehicle.att.com/#/acura...anguage=en

Any chance Verizon will offer this? Or can I get it as stand alone with AT&T, as I have a GM vehicle I wouldn't mind having this

Does this use the OBD-II port? I currently have mine being used for car insurance, is it possible to expand it?
Or can I order this, take out the SIM to put in my AT&T Netgear mobile hotspot device?
If the car has built-in WiFi, then no. If it's an older vehicle without WiFi, then you'd need the AT&T Spark (OBD-II) to get this deal. No sim needed if vehicle has WiFi built in.
