No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

Why does the link the OP provided take me to www.dpbolvw.net first? Phishing?
I'm the OP. I just checked all 4 links (2 from the SlickDeals front page editor, 2 from my original post)... they're all working correctly.

So I used to have AT&T and switched to T-Mobile to save some money but I hate the service. If I get this then basically I would have AT&T service in my car as long as I connect my phone via Wi-Fi? I don't care about the phone calls just the data

Yup! I have T-Mobile as well. My in-car account uses AT&T, but I actually pay OnStar for it. I never even had to contact AT&T.

Off the topic. If I need to use this sim card to another portable Hotspot, so I don't need to carry the whole car (lol), is there any Hotspot suggestion.?

Haven't seen anyone say they needed to get or had a SIM card yet. One person did say on a Ford there was no need for one as it was built in. I was also hoping one took a SIM card to move off the $35/30 days unlimited plan to save some extra $. Otherwise the recommendation for home type use is a netgear nighthawk m1

Can someone explain how one without a car could potentially get this for internet?

Do you need to buy an AT&T Spark device and a standalone power adapter for it and then this $15 plan is eligible to be activated?

Or can you just buy a Mobley device and directly activate that instead of the AT&T Spark device and then transfer the SIM into an AT&T pocket hotspot device?
Check out the RV unlimited internet thread. That's exactly what people did and are doing. You can buy a OBD power adapter that you can plug in the wall to plug these into. The question is the Spark. Will it let you do that? Some of them have a GPS and will only keep working if they are moving to get around people using them as home internet.

Update: Seems the spark can't be used outside of a moving car.

Pretty much useless to most people unless you drive for a living.
Or you adapt it to be a wifi hotspot in your house.

I believe this offer is only good for vehicles which already come equipped with a Wi-Fi feature. I called and customer service said mine didn't qualify for $15 if I purchased the spark device.

ATT in Morris County, NJ, is a trainwreck. Switching to Verizon as soon as the new iPhone comes out.

Are there any deals they would give me to switch?
