No thanks. I was burned by AT&Ts grandfathered promo for Directv Now. Had a clause that basically said they could raise the rate when they wanted to.

5G won't have as much coverage area as LTE because of higher frequency band. We will have spots for 5G initially and then slowly cover block, street, town, city, state, and then whole country. Don't think because you hear 5G a lot means we are there, it's a really long roadmap which will take at least 3-4 years.

not having to turn hotspot on?

Ez on my moto x but My son can't figure it out on his Sprint iphone7 Are there any good free apps to auto turn on when driving for droid and apple? Searching just brings up scams.
Don't know for ios, for Android you can use Tasker or llama.

OP and/or mods should update the post to reflect that the $15 deal doesn't apply if your vehicle requires the Spark device, especially given that at least two folks have already posted in this thread that they've been told exactly just that.

And even if the Spark does qualify for the deal--other than getting unlimited data, why would I choose to go all-in on this (I would need the Spark) since my kids' phones are under my Mobile Share Plan, thus no need for my kids to tether to any phone/device while in the car...and for those who argued about battery drain on the phones due to hotspotting--our phones are either plugged into powered outlets or connected to portable battery packs so no dead phones upon arrival here. Is the Spark capable of pulling in a much stronger cell signal compared to your typical modern smartphone?

Put it this way--would I get better streaming performance if my phone was tethered to the Spark vs. just streaming directly on the phone itself?

22G of data for a home network is a joke and add to that the 7 device limit. Wasting $15 on a pretty much useless service is $15 wasted
1) It say it may slow, it doesn't say it will slow. Look at the rv unlimited internet thread for discussions about a plan very similar to this from AT&T. There are no wide spread complaints about any slowing.

2) You realize that one of, or all of for that matter, the devices can be another router right? I guess not. There is no such thing as a device limit since any one of those devices can be a router. You can keep daisy chaining devices forever.

Not worth it. T-Mobile cheaper. You can get the T-Mobile sync obd2 dongle for around 20 dollars on eBay. And get a SIM card from T-Mobile with 10dollar 1gb data plan. You will also get T-Mobile Tuesday.

Is everyone looking at the same thing I am? This looks like an OBD2 plug that records your driving.
I wonder if an OBD emulator can be used for home use.

You need to use that thingy only if your vehicle doesn't have built-in WiFi capabilities. Here's the vehicles that have it (scroll down on this page): https://www.att.com/plans/connected-car.html

LMAO that's because its exactly what it is. You schmucks are literally going to pay $15/month to give alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of your driving habits to AT&T, who is going to turn around and sell ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of that information to whoever they can.

And you already have cell phones.

A fool and his money.
Oh boy.... that's not what this post is about... it's for the vehicles that already have BUILT IN WiFi capabilities. (For those that don't.... you'll need that Spark thingy to plug in). Here's the list of vehicles that already are good-to-go on their own (scroll down on this page): https://www.att.com/plans/connected-car.html

Pretty sure the $10 version is if you've already got an AT&T account, and are on mobile share. For $5 more, you could see if you can set up a separate account to get the Unlimited. (Better yet, if your vehicle is OnStar-enabled, just press the blue button and ask for the deal.... don't even have to contact AT&T at all...)

I had that. (Still have it...put it back in the box...) I took it off after it drained my battery. I love T-Mo, but that product was a miss IMO.
