I've got an older version of this kit that I've been using for probably 20 years and it's still going strong. Matter of fact, it may be older than that, as it came with an instructional VHS tape, lol ... Finish trimmer is battery powered and kinda sucks -- seems like I only get one use before I have to replace the battery, and so I haven't used it in years. Scissors aren't that good either except for light trimming. But the clippers and guards/guides are great.

It is usually 29.99. From time to time they have a $7-8 promo.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a trimmer? I have a set like this but the small trimmer sucks. Have been looking for a good one for edging and sideburns etc. Have been searching for awhile. Thanks in advance

I don't have much experience with anything under the $50 price range and I think anything far below that just doesn't do you much good. If you want cordless, go Slimline Pro Li. If you want corded I would go with the Wahl Detailers. Both of these can be found for around $50. The Andis for a little cheaper if you look on eBay.

Got this from Costco, had a good year or so of bi weekly hair cuts but now it's just yanks my hair out. Oil doesn't help and I don't know how to recalibrate. Gonna try to get Costco to exchange for new one.

I use the Wahl Peanut and enjoy it. I am not an expert by any means so read further reviews first.

I've been cutting my son's hair for 4+ years. I highly recommend cordless. Lithium ion battery technology is great, you can cut hair without plugging in, and the clippers are quieter (less scary for kids).

If you can find a repair shop they can sharpen the blades.. I had an Oster, used it for a long time!

Not sure how much you want to spend but I love my Andis. Cuts real close.
