Just FYI - DellRefurbished often has this very monitor (U2415) on sale - the last time I got it for $84.27 shipped after tax. I ended up getting 3 over some time - 2 of them are on my desk and my son uses the 3rd one. Even though they are technically refurbs, one of them had ~6000 hours on its timer, and the other one - around 10000 hours ("LCD monitors are typically rated for 30,000 to 60,000 hours of use"), so even very conservatively they still have well over half of their lifespan ahead of them (at least I hope so).

You need to monitor those sales pretty closely though. The last time U2415 literally disappeared within the first hour of a 50% off coupon.

Oh I didn't know you can check the timer. Is it under the menu?

Yes, you switch the monitor off, then hold buttons 1 and 2, then press and hold power for a few seconds and then release 1 & 2. After the monitor switches on, you hit button 1 and you'll see a hidden "engineering" menu. Sorry for a vague explanation, I'm terrible at explaining simple concepts lol. Just in case, there are few videos on YT on how to do this.
I believe it works on most Dell monitors.

If that's below standards, okay. But for us plebs this is a great monitor.
TN panel fanboy. That is why. TN fanboys only care about the response time which is either 1ms or 2ms. They don't care about anything else. They buy inferior monitors just to have that kind of spec. It lets them have imaginary superpowers when they game.

38W typical, 72W maximum according to Dell website.
Interesting ...originally, the 2412M was 29w typical, 72w maximum (See attached [I downloaded those specs in mid-2012]) Explanation is likely a change mentioned in the current SD thread on the 2412M (https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=131121703&postcount=173)

I've been using 2 x 2001FPs for 15 years! Still looking good. They were a bargain @$500 each (see attached)

Ofcourse- the monitor is intended for professional use, I wouldn't buy one without it.

2415 is superior if you have a multi monitor setup.
It has smaller bezels and supports daisy chaining

Lowest refurb was $135 if I remember right
