Unless Target has FINALLY changed their system to cancel out price matching during a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale you can/should be able to price match qualifying items to lower prices while still receiving the B2G1 promotion as well.

So for example, let's say you have two $29.99 video games that qualify and a third one is priced at $49.99 in store but a store they price match has it for $29.99. You can price match that third game and still get the B2G1, making it effectively $20 apiece for each $29.99 game with this promotion. I did this numerous times during their two B2G1F promotions in the past year or so, even matching something like 80% of the games I was buying.

Bought 2 copies of Super Mario Maker 2 (on sale 49.99 —one for me and one for gift)
And preordered Mario and Sonic 2020 Olympics

With redcard discount total was $104, just about $36 per game!

It's a $33% discount per game which is not bad. Better than a buy one get one %50 off.
