Rough Math
Example 1: Single line w/ used 6s+port in
Assume iPhone 6s trade in and port in your number that has a current monthly rate of $30/month, Further assume you only have a single line
you essentially will spend net $170 and gave up (trade in) that iPhone 6s, but get an iPhone 11 after three months at T-Mobile (Magenta, $70/month). More line will result in better saving. Detailed calculation is elaborated in this post:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
Example 2: Buy and sell
$ 560 - 4 used Iphones 6s ($140) from Amazon
$ 420 - 3 Months of Magenta Plan for 4 lines ($140 w/ 3rd line free)
$2750 - 4 Iphones 11 64 GB inc tax ($687.5. $630 if no tax)
______
$3730 Out of pocket (Sum above)
-2320 Rebates ($580x4)
-2000 Sell 4 Iphones 11, 3 months later ($500 after seller fee)
= $ 590 Profit
$80 Iphone 6S from TotalWireless https://shop.totalwirel

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.
The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

You cannot have a cancelled line on your plan in the last 90 days. This is the requirement to qualify for the rebate. This is to prevent people from cancelling current line and adding new line for a new device on a discount.
all plans should qualify. for simple choice the costco rep has to call t-mobile with a "token" code to add the line as their system doesn't allow it.

That being said, I don't know if the name of the Costco card holder and the T-Mobile account holder has to be the same. I doubt it.
When you byod for 125 costco prepaid card, did they print out paperwork for submission of rebate? Does paperwork specifies which postpaid plans are valid for the GC? I want to activate byod but then move it to lowest cost plan.
I have also heard that this rebate is very difficult to get and you have to wait 3-4 months to get this so cannot cancel the plan.
when i try accessing Mypromochoice.com\Costco : the url doesnt comeup, but T&C in costco said we need to goto this site to submit rebates
Friday I posted my situation. I have two 6splus phones one is being used and one isn't. . I need two new phones since these are old. I plan on adding a line for my son and trading in the not used iPhone 6splus since I actually need a line for him anyways. But for me I use my iPhone 6splus and want to upgrade it wit this promo. So how do I do that. I have read this whole thread and I get a bit lost on this. So can you spell this out for me.
Since I think you can do this up to 4 times on this promo. I think I am suppose to open up another after I open up my sons lline that I never plan to keep. Trade in my current phone that I use. And in a few months once I get the gift card cancel the new line. I will be out the cost of the line but will have gotten a new phone and major value for my 6splus. Is this right?
One last thing. You said and others did too that they swapped out the sim from their current phone to the new one and still got the rebate even though Costco says you may lose the rebate. So in my case I would be swapping out my sim into new phone. While old sim sits on the desk till I can cancel and hope I don't have an issue. And then ultimately the cost of this phone is whatever the costs is minus the months i paid for a line I didn't need. Is this correct?

Open up two new lines under your current account at the same time.
How much is an each extra line on your account?
Once you get the 11's, be sure you at least make some test calls, use data (not wifi) with the new sim. Swap your old sim to the iPhone 11 and send out both iPhone 6s plus.
Once you get the rebate, cancel the line.
