Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.
The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.
How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

The same thing happened to me.
They initiate the process for adding the line and then rebate and eventually ask for the IMEI# and then print the rebate instructions paper and also the prepaid shipping label which has these instructions (screenshot attached).
Of course they quickly do a visual check for phone condition (mainly cracked screen) before taking the IMEI# but not the actual phone.
Once you complete the online process after coming home, you ship that phone using the shipping label they provided
The only pain-point I saw in my case was, since I am adding a line in my friend's account, I need HIM to log into his T-Mo a/c and submit the application (which needs a photo of Costco receipt and IMEI sticker on the iPhone-11 box) so basically I need to take my receipt and box to him to help him submitting the online application.
That's it as far as I can tell !!
And yes, I specifically asked the T-Mo Cust Care if the new phone device and SIM are attached for this PROMO (meaning do they HAVE to be together and they said "Naah, as long as the line is active, you should be good") because you are free to use any device you want once you start the line (which is always the case)!
As i understand, wouldn't make much sense then to get this deal and cancel the line right after receiving Prepaid card, because portion (depends on the trade-in value) of this $580 credit will be sitting in that new line account which cannot be used anyway other than just paying line bills.
It's really a bummer in this case... I would want otherwise just to get phone and cancel line.
#1. I am guessing we need to login into HIS T-Mo a/c as the first step (https://t-mobile.com/promotions) correct?
#2 During the application process, is there an option to send the rebate card (either physical or eCard) to my physical (or email) address instead of his? I don't want to keep bothering him in future if he has received the card or not (does that make sense?)!

Are you expecting the rebate card in a week or two? ;-)
Anyways, we should keep the line active for 90 days (even if you get the rebate card sooner) to avoid future blacklisting based on previous threads on similar promo !!!
Second question which one person answered, but I'll like to confirm. How do you cash this prepaid card? Can it be cashed out and if so what's the best method to do so. Thanks!

That kind of blows as I'll be paying for phone upfront cash. Now any word on redeeming gift card to cash and how to?

are you saying the trade-in value credit from T-mo comes instantly in the first billing cycle?

they give you the "fair market value" (which is like $36 for iPhone 6S...lol) as one time credit in your T-Mo a/c as soon as your rebate is approved (if you are lucky then in the first bill otherwise second bill for sure) !
The remaining (580-36) is loaded on the rebate card which you'll receive in 1.5 months or so!

Also will I need to activate the phone in Costco or I can bring it home do a Verizon sim trick to unlock it first?
