Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

i'm filling out my rebate papers for 4 phones... i just noticed a small error...

on my ship label papers, one of my iphones are listed as the wrong memory size. all the info of IMEI is correct, but it says 16GB and should be 64GB.

is this something to worry of, or not a issue since the IMEI and everything else is correct?
from previous posts from the XR deals, the gb size did not matter.
What mattered was that the imei was correct.

This deal would be amazing and I'd jump on it if I could only get the 128gb size. Am I silly (with a 6S) for not just giving in and getting the 64gb here? What's the likelihood that there will be another similar deal someplace else with the 128gb anytime soon? I'm okay with waiting a month.

I was denied with simple choice plan . They say this is applicable only for newer plans starting TMobile one , magenta and so on
I just got off with 611 (Tmo Reps in my state area). So i had a nice long conversation w the Rep.

I too, am on Simple Choice Unlmtd Data plan (upgraded over the Summer). I've tried with 2 Tmo reps and the Membership Wireless rep at Costco with no luck on getting a unique code to get this promo in effect for OUR account.

Some key points from our conversation:

-Simple Choice IS generally excluded for now. You may or may not get an exception through an authorized person at Tmobile for this. YMMV (by a lot, I kept trying. And it was a no go)

- Their newer systems now take Codes to take advantage of offers. If you've been around Tmo long enough you know in the past promotions were a mess. Every call to 611 had a different version conversation on your promotion. What used to be just "notes on the account" is a thing of the past.

-You need a token number that authorizes the changes to the account so you reflect that you took advantage of this offer. This allows them to play around with lines, phones, etc.

-The reason SC is excluded is because they want to focus on New Customers/Magenta One plans. They're prioritizing this promotion for that market.

-Lastly, he told me to "Be patient, they don't want to exclude current and loyal customers either, BF and Holiday deals are coming which will be better"

In all, its a business. They're in the business of making money and building customers every chance they get. While it sucks to dangle these bomb looking promos to new or newer customers first, eventually they get around to longer term customers. The rep was upfront in telling me they're in the business of keeping customers not just people taking these offers and jumping ship.

Take what I said for what its worth..

How to know if rep created regular trade-in or promo trade-in?
See the attachment on the first page of this thread, under Wiki. You should see the "Total Offer Value Received" is 580. You should have a copy of those papers when the Membership Wireless Rep did it correctly.

Any ideas if there is a way to cash the MasterCard gift card without any fees? I'm guessing adding it on Venmo to send to someone will trigger some fees.

Go back to Costco and have the rep fix it. It is easy enough, but has to be done at Costco before shipping the old Iphone for trade-in.
Went back and the person who did the sale wasn't there, and the person who was there didn't know how to fix.

Turns out the it's the "manager" who did the transaction.

"Easy enough"... well, hope that's the case. Apparently the standards can be quite different...

What you're saying... if you're not already an existing TMo customer, better pull the trigger now, because the next round may not be as sweet.

I'm really curious how many TMo's phone net adds come from people who wants nice phones while the line isn't really used.

Is anyone knows if I open a new account with Magenta plan and port the number from existing Simple Choice, does it still qualify? Don't want to pay too much extra on two accounts for three months. Or can I just port out the line to other carrier $10 prepaid sim and port in back to Tmobile the same day?

They'll always have sweet deals for new or newer customers. It's about reeling them in and keeping them.

Sweet deals happen a few times a year. But this deal has the capacity to take advantage of 4 phone per account vs the past ones were only 1 per account.

Yes, last year they were doling out $750 for a new line and trade in. Max of 1 per offer per account. You could do 1 each in each offer period.
This time on this promo its a much lower amount but max 4 per account. So I would say some people who want/ need more phones this is a great deal. Last year I was able to get the Xs and a few weeks later a friend on my plan also wanted in, but couldn't due to the limit.
I'm holding out till BF and hoping something similar to last year comes by Smilie

Thanks. I'm gonna pass on this deal this time then. I have a 6s that I paid $125 for just to do a deal like this, but to even add 3 months of a separate single-line Magenta plan ($210) on top of that 6s is only a net savings of $245.

I have added the card on Venmo but it wont allow me to use it, so i think there might be some fee to cash it out at a bank?

Where does it state that u can only get 64GB? I've been reading the flyer uploaded to this post and can't parse that info anywhere. Inagree, 64 is really limited considering the bigger sizes of photos/videos out of the better cameras on iphone 11. My almost 2 year old iphone x is now 143 of 256 GB and prolly only 25% of that is photos (im prolly average in camera usage)

I usually add the card to my venmo account and send the money to a friend and there is no fees since it's a debit card.
