Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.

It depends on what phone you are trading in. Hypothetically, you trade in a iPhone 6s. It is worth about $79. The $79 is the one time bill credit. The rest of the amount will be in form of a virtual prepaid card worth $501. Get the idea how this works?
Thank you. So, in my case, it makes sense to trade-in an iphone 6s since I don't really care about sticking with T-mobile for long.

Picked up an iPhone 11 64GB from nearby Costco for $629 + taxes. Used my Costco Citi card for an extra 2% back (~$14) . Added a new Tmobile one line for $20 per month. Filled out the rebate form and shipped my 4 year old iPhone 6S using the label I got from Costco. Considering I get my rebate within 2 months, final price of the phone after rebate and two months of Tmobile one line comes to ~ $140. Killer deal for a brand new iPhone 👏🏻
Which T-mobile plan did you take?

A couple of questions if someone wouldnt mind helping me out.
The phone has to be paid all upfront right? I cant finance it and then use the rebate to pay off the phone?

Just talked to the Costco reps and they told me that if I try to cancel after getting the rebate, Tmobile will charge me for it. Is that so? They couldnt show me the terms where it states that but they said its usually a 2 year agreement. They then tried to sell me on ATT's deal for porting a phone number for 700 + a 250 Costco card (but then youre locked in for 30 months)

How long do you have to keep that line for?
The fine print says you'll receive the rebate in 6-8 weeks. But the rep said it might take up to 12 weeks. So give or take 3 months max. Last time (2018) I did a promo like this, I got the rebate card from Tmobile in like 7 weeks after I shipped my old phone

Will this deal allow me to cancel an existing line once I opened and activated a new line with the new iphone? I currently have 4 lines already on Tmobile One and I don't really need 5 lines. When I called CS they told me I cannot close an existing/old line after I avail of this promotion. It doesn't really matter for me if I get a prepaid card or bill credits, but what matters most to me is getting rid of an existing line in order to add a new one...

If this is my case, it is better to get the Costco deal, wait for the rebate card, pay off the phone... then cancel the line?

Just make sure you get the virtual prepaid card first. Use that card to pay off or most of the phone. Pay off your phone and then you can cancel the T-Mobile line.

Keep this in mind that you will not be able to sign up for future promos for a period of 90 days. But, if you wanted to take advantage of future promos you will have to reactivate this line that you will be cancelling.

Tmobile one. I already have a Tmobile one group plan with 6 members. Any new line is just $20 per month with autopay

Do you need to use the new phone on the new line to get the rebate?
No, but it is recommended to power it on and make 1-2 calls to let system see the phone for rebate. From T-Mobile promo in the past 12 months, some people didn't even remove the wrap and got their rebate card; however, t&c is a bit different this time so I would suggest to do my way.

Does anyone know how much of the 580$ is given as a bill credit vs a prepaid card? I don't really plan on staying with TMobile more than I have to, to get this deal
your trade-in model and size will determine your credit amount.

just for reference, I traded in 2x 6s plus 16gb for $36 credit and 2x 6s plus 64gb for $66 credit

No, but you need to know the imei, color, size, model, carrier so they can enter that into the rebate.

As others have said, Tmobile supports dual Sim (by using the eSim). In other words, you can have the new line AND your regular number on the same phone. So it doesn't really matter anymore

I have an iPhone 6s to trade in and there is an issue with home button. Apart from that the iPhone works perfectly fine. No dents or scratches. Will T-Mobile reject the trade-in?
on one of my phone, the home button worked partially where i had to press it few times for it to respond.. took a chance and sent it as-is, and my rebate was approved.
