Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

If the wireless kiosk rep wants to see your trade in device, you just tell him the phone's condition. All they need is just the IMEI to get you the return shipping label. Costco is not the one evaluating trade in devices so they don't really care. I've done this Costco trade in deal 4 times and no one ever wanted to see the actual trade in device.
Their trade-in system requires that they answer 4 questions about the condition:
  1. does the phone turn on?
  2. is the screen cracked?
  3. is find my iphone turned off?
  4. is the phone water damaged?

If you bring your device they may insist on looking at it but not always. one of my devices had a cracked screen and I just told them I'm going to replace it before shipping it out and they just went with it, answering "no" for screen cracked.

Guys, i enquired about the ways to encash the virtual card with T-Mobile. It seems we cannot add the virtual card value that we will be getting from this promotion to the apple pay.

Could someone throw light on how to use the virtual mastercard prepaid card in store or other purchase ? It seems only we can use it for online purchases ?

Have anyone tried to encash or transfer the $$ value from such virtual prepaid cards to your own account or atleast as a physical card ?
If everything works the same way as previous one did, you can request a physical card after you receive and register the card with a fee. From there, you can use it just like a normal credit card. You may try to cash advance by going in a BofA bank with no fee, YMMV.

Yes. But that's not such a good idea. Cheapest plan for a single line is $60 a month. Factor in that you might need at minimum 2 months of service (maybe 3 if the rebate takes long) and you are spending $120/$180 for service
They have an "over 55" plan for:
1 line $50
2 lines $70
(There's also a 3 line for $90 but you have to jump through hoops to get it).

If anyone is over 55 have them open the account. It's unlimited everything, 2GB tethering and all fees and taxes are included.

Yes I always answer those questions for them when the reps get to the page. Asurion, the third party company handles the trade in phones, will reject the trade in if the phone has a problem anyways so those Costco reps don't really need to do anything.

Do online chat with Costco for iPhone inventory for bear by store before you go. Not every Costco has T-Mobile kiosk and not every T-Mobile kiosk has 11 in stock.
They have crap for T-Mobile iPhone stock. No 11, 11 Pro, or XS. Only can find XR or 11 Max (too huge)

Are the phones from Costco for this T-Mobile plan locked to T-Mobile or lock-free? So, if I decide to cancel the Tmobile plan after 3 months or sell the phone, will the phones be SIM-lock and carrier-lock free?

Thanks!

Thanks. Could you pls tell how much was the fee you paid for getting a physical card ?

I feel the catch here is this virtual card, where it have just 6 months of validity and high chance that we might not use the full value of the card, if we`re not a online shoppy savy person.

Yes. You can also take advantage of the $50 BYOD (bring your own device) costco cash card deal since you are porting in a number from a different carrier into T-Mobile.
See above, yes you can port into tmobile and keep your old number.
Does the 50$ byod deal stack with this deal? I don't think so

Use it to pay your utility bills, or even T-Mobile bills.
