Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

CONFUSING COSTCO REP

So I went in yesterday for this deal. The rep tells me I don't need to add a line as my line is upgrade eligible. BUT he said, if I add a line I'd qualify for some extra $125 promo that they don't normally allow but he'd try double dipping. I replied I don't want extra line if i don't have to. I get all the paperwork from the OP's thread.
I would return it.
Sounds like a mess.

So with this promo is it worth it to just open 1 new line/account (currently not a Tmobile subscriber) or better to do max of 4 lines? If I did just 1 line (iPhone 11) would the net cost be the following:

$685 ($630 +tax) + 210 (3 month of Magenta service) + $120 (cost of iphone 6s) - $580 = $435 after canceling line after 3 months. Is that accurate? After 3 months of service can the phone be unlocked by Tmobile or not?

I get all the paperwork from the OP's thread.

At first I start to panic as it says Accepted offer value $131 for my IPhone 8 64GB I plan to send it to them. Then I realized they did same thing for an IPhone during Samsung S10e where I received $40 but received it on the bill and rest of the amount on a gift card. I filled out the rebate and its says pending which is probably because they haven't received my phone yet, which I still haven't mailed.

I called T-Mobile promotions dept and the lady said the COSTCO promo says add a line and she doesn't see extra line added. She also said my offer might get rejected but told me to wait and call again until my offer shows and rebate tracking number shows up on their end which it didn't because rep said I just filed yesterday.

I am so confused on whether I should proceed further or just return the phone and play it safe. Don't want to get screwed by only getting $131 for my IPhone 8.

I called Costco and luckily it was the same guy singing a different tune that it depends on what model, memory size and condition the phone is and its not a guarantee of $580 but rebate form clearly says "All variants and sizes" accepted. Sorry for a lengthy post. Hoping someone could chime in
If you are only "upgrading" a line and did not add a new line, you are simply trading in your phone for the trade-in value and not taking advantage of this $580 offer whatsoever. The new line is a core requirement for this deal.

Another way to check is to go through the rebate submission process as I don't see why it would let you go through the process if you were ineligible. I'm unsure if this is the same procedure that you completed, but it should have been handed to you when you purchased the iPhone 11 at Costco under "How to Redeem Your Offer: 3-4. Go to T-Mobile.com/Promotions within 30 days... [start submission/log-in to your account] AND [enter] promo code: COSTCO2019APPLETRADE" You will select the phone line that is eligible for this offer (would be the new line's phone number) and hit next or something, then it will let you know if you're eligible for the offer. Then once you agree to the terms of service, you will enter in details such as shipping address, what cell # you want the e-gift card sent to (will be via text), and you will also upload the costco receipt showing your iphone purchase and a picture of the back of the iphone box.

If you're in the market for a new phone, the 11 is certainly worth $435 compared to competitors. That said, if you have the money to pay for these upfront I would consider purchasing 4 and doing this deal 4 times at once (this is what I'm doing). If you end up selling the spare phones, you can end up net-profiting since the plan gets cheaper per-line with more total lines. Of course there's the hassle of selling them after the fact, so you'll have to consider that as well.

You should be able to unlock after 41 days (make sure you call/text ASAP on the new phone lines to "activate" it on the T-Mobile network). The unlock request can take a couple days so I'd recommend doing so on the 41st day or soon after.

So just returned from my local warehouse after finding out that they do not carry any t-mobile phones although the rep said they can open a line and order a phone. I remember reading it in this thread but can't seem to find it now, but buying a device and having it shipped negates the one time $580 credit and you get monthly bill credits spread over 24 months. Is this correct? Or can I pay for the device in full at the warehouse and have it shipped and still be eligible for the one time prepaid card?
Need to be in-stock to get the gift card or else it's credits for 24 months if you get it ship.

I'm in the same boat. The Costco rep said it is not a problem if exchanging but will be a problem if returning the phone. I'm gonna do exchange soon.
So went to Costco to do exchange. However, rep said to submit the rebate form online first with the old phones imei. He confirmed with multiple T-Mobile reps on the phone that the rebate will still be good when doing exchange.

I actually did all that. It let me select one of my existing lines that I gave the Costco rep that I was upgrading. Asked me for the new device IMEI number and everything and even allowed me to submit it and received a tracking number.

I see! Well, you can give it a shot and cross your fingers. You might get lucky and they don't even check (since you already were approved for the rebate initiation). However, technically the terms you accepted at the kiosk and again when submitting the rebate is agreeing that the offer terms require you to open a new line, which you didn't do; so, it would be a hard-fought battle if you'll need to dispute a rejected claim.

Thanks for the answer but don't know. I don't want to get screwed and receive only $131 for my iPhone 8 as it says on their appraised value line

Personally if I were in your boat I'd sell the 8, buy a cheaper 6s, and open a new line for the 11 and trade-in the 6s. Depending on the condition the 8 is worth considerably more than the 6s. 4-6 weeks of anxiety not knowing whether the rebate will be approved would not be worth it for me lol.

If I cancel the plan after unlocking my phone, will they revoke the rebate and take $580 back?

Has anyone has received approval of the rebate? I submitted my trade-ins on 5th of this month and I see below on my t-mobile account.

Reward Type: Virtual Prepaid Card
Status: Received.

What does it mean? Is the rebate still under process? When will I know, that my rebate is approved? Thanks.
