Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

If I cancel the plan after unlocking my phone, will they revoke the rebate and take $580 back?
The contract that you and the folks at Costco agreed to do not mention a requirement to keep the line after you receive the rebate. If they revoked the rebate you would have grounds to sue for fraud/theft.

Has anyone has received approval of the rebate? I submitted my trade-ins on 5th of this month and I see below on my t-mobile account.

Reward Type: Virtual Prepaid Card
Status: Received.

What does it mean? Is the rebate still under process? When will I know, that my rebate is approved? Thanks.
This would be the fastest turn around time I'd ever seen for the rebate! You would know when the tmobile # that you chose to receive the virtual gift card (when submitting the rebate online) receives a text message with a link to redeem/receive the gift card. When I did the deal last that was the only notification I received - no e-mail or snail mail at all, just the text.

I would not risk it and doubt they would pass it. That one is too obvious of a defect and will most certainly get noticed when they inspect the phone.

All right So here is what I did & waste my half of day at Costco.

1. Using this plan I trade in Iphone-7 (128 GB) for $70 ( this is what they calcualted)
2. Opted for unlimited plan $60/month ( with tax it will reach $65)
3. Got an Iphone -11 (128 GB) $749.00 ( Including all taxes, they discounted $70 upfront)
4. Associate told me that I will get 580-70 = $510 on Gift card.

So far things were all right and I was happy. Then I read this slick deal thread & did my calculation back , here is what I curated.

- I would need to wait for at least 3 months to get my GC ( worth $510) BUT ( yes a big but) until then I would be paying approximate $200 ( 3 months of bill of this line including all taxes) , out of which $70 will applied as credit of my I phone 7.

- Now actual saving would be $510(GC) - $200(3 Months bill) + $70 (tradein credit) = $380 ( still sounds fair right ?)
- Actually No , I am trading in Iphone 7 too ( still thinking about it) , Market value of Iphone 7 is roughly $250 ( unless you do funny trade in like this ) hence my rough estimation says all I am saving here is $380-$250( I can do happy trade-in on this price)= $130

I'm going to return it as I am sure I will save more then that on some Black Friday deal , if not at least I will keep my I phone 7 which I bought at $899 ( 2 years back)
Market value of that iPhone 7 is $70 (that's where that number came from). But please do return the iPhone 11 and see what happens in a few weeks =)

The Costco dude told us that they don't have any iphone 11s even though I confirmed with a customer rep that the store have 9 stocks available. The dude also told us that they don't like people cancelling their new line after getting the rebate so they want to ship the phone instead to get the bill credits. This is what happens when people keep asking unnecessary stupid questions. tsk!
And the dude told us that will not get any stock until the 15th. That's after the promotion date. LOL. Is there a way to report this to corporate to get around with this?
The 9 stock available you were told by the customer rep was likely 9 when the store opened, they don't get updated inventory information until the next day. So it's very plausable that 9 were sold before you went to the store.
Or you went to the wrong Costco.

When I gave the Costco rep my phone info I just had him select ATT as the carrier because I read here that it doesn't matter where it came from. Does the fact that it was actually a Total Wireless phone make a difference? The IMEI number and make/model/color were all correct though. I already sent it off to T-Mobile.
i did the same they had total on there list but no iphone dropdown menu, so the rep selected at at&t ..

I orginally didnt get the figure 2 and 3 documents from the wiki, but the rep knew I was there for the $580 rebate. When I reached home I saw the documents from my sisters purchase of the same deal from a different costco and I realized the documents were missing. I called Costco and he said sorry and said just follow the instructions as mentioned on the docs as I can see on the documents that my sister had(figure 2&3 from wiki) and everything will be okay.

Can I just do that and there'll be no issues or was he trying to get rid off me by just saying that?

I wouldn't risk it and would personally go back to the costco to have them to repeat the trade in process correctly.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚the one I went to is like a 120 miles. But I guess you're right. Might not be worth the risk

The rep at Costco tonight told me that if I got an iPhone with this deal and added a line to my plan, I would only be able to use the new iPhone with the new number that I added. They said I would have to wait 60 days to be able to use the new iPhone with one of my existing numbers. Said something about the phones coming locked to prevent fraud and changing the SIM would lock them out. This doesn't sound right to me. Does anyone know?
