Have you ever used an iPhone?
If yes then you would know that when you "reset" it (which is what you are supposed to do before trading-in), then next time anyone starts it, it will try to activate it, again!
In other words, you activating it or not makes no difference if you are going to "reset" it anyway !!!
Ok, thanks! Smilie

My wife has an iPhone. I have been 100% Android for many years, at least since the Nexus 4, or Samsung S5 Active. Sounds like basically the same thing.

I wasn't sure if it needed to be activated once to show up in an online database- as a valid USA device/ not be blacklisted by Apple/ etc. Sounds like no.

Thanks! I'll make up for it elsewhere, I have a degree in CS. laugh out loudWave

Cheers.

I'm on another T-Mobile family's family plan. Would anyone be able to guide me how to park my number somewhere and port my number to T-Mobile to take advantage of the deal?

All Tmobile cares about is that the phone is in working condition, and it doesn't have an icloud account logged in, which would lock the phone to anyone else trying to use it when they resell it. If you bought it from any prepaid services, that has already been verified before they resold it to you, so you don't have to do anything. I'd still turn it on just to see that it is working. The rep should turn it on to verify the screen and get the IMEI.

Anyone got answer to this? Can we open a second account to overcome the 8 line limitation on ONE plan?
Yes, only if the second account holder is someone other than the first. Simply put, new account = new SSN.

I would recommend you open a new account for this deal, complete the rebate, then close the account. Keep your new iphone use it with your current # on the family plan as it will be cheaper and less hassle moving it back and forth.

This was asked previously by another person but I never saw an answer...

I already have a TMobile Simple Choice Plan that doesn't allow participation in this offer. So, I opened another plan (Magenta) in my wife's name to get 4 iPhone 11's. Does anyone know if we can put our Simple Choice sim cards in the new iPhone 11's? I'm not wanting to throw up any "red flags" and possibly lose my rebates. Anyone have experience with doing this in the previous offers?

Many people do this and I've done this - it's fine. Just make sure that you do make a call on the magenta sim cards included in the phone before you replace them with your simple choice sim cards to "activate" the lines.

Yea. You should be able to. The limit is 4 unlike past Xr Costco deals which were 1 per account. Do a chat with Costco and ask for stock in your zip code
Quote from soy714 :
But can't you, in the extreme case, go to 4 different Costco's?
Actually you can. There are various legitimate and reasonable reasons(distance, promotional window, time constraint, gift, vacation..etc) to do so. I did confirmed with Tmobile before I did so at 3 locals. Nothing wrong with trying to save your family a few dollars here and there. Remember, Costco is 10% less than Tmobile store; no activation fee and sim incliuded. If that's not enticing enough, you may return within 90 days. The beauty is that you'll definitely know the conclusion of your rebate beforehand. This will leave you with plenty of amble time for any recourse you may exercise.

How do you all intend to use up $500+ in virtual gift card(s)? Especially with 4 of them? It would be nice to pay rent with them but unfortunately I don't think my landlord accepts egift cards LMAO
