Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

If I want to port in a number, can I choose to get a new number first then port in afterwards or do I need to port in at Costco right then and there? Will it affect the rebate? Thanks

I went today and purchased 4 iPhone 11 pro max 256gb. Stocks were running pretty low and its almost gone in other warehouses around.

Final paperwork has promotion dates as 11/01 - 11/18

Also, we heard that the plan needs to be active for minimum of 6months and phone will be unlocked after 2months. Not sure if we need to followup with T-mobile for unlocking.
I read it's 40 days before unlock can be REQUESTED, yes you need to ask them to unlock it but if 40 days stay true then it can be done during second month on the service.

How do you all intend to use up $500+ in virtual gift card(s)? Especially with 4 of them? It would be nice to pay rent with them but unfortunately I don't think my landlord accepts egift cards LMAO
In the past, I've been able to add the virtual cards to Samsung Pay. You can use Samsung Pay at almost any B&M store.

Ok, thanks!

My wife has an iPhone. I have been 100% Android for many years, at least since the Nexus 4, or Samsung S5 Active. Sounds like basically the same thing.

I wasn't sure if it needed to be activated once to show up in an online database- as a valid USA device/ not be blacklisted by Apple/ etc. Sounds like no.

Thanks! I'll make up for it elsewhere, I have a degree in CS.

Cheers.
You are welcome bro...Smilie.
Although these things are not really connected to CS, it's a fair expectation that a CS engineer or similar (I myself am a Software Engineer...lol) are generally technically sound in smart devices as well (including phones)... ;-) ;-)
Cheers

For those of you that added a new line to an existing T-Mobile Plan, when you go to the promo website and start your submission, do you create a new login for the new phone number, or do you log into your existing account through the primary account holder?
Login to the existing a/c... of course !

Has someone actually done this deal yet. Because it says in the original link it is up to $580. Not $580 no matter what your trade is worth.

Anyone know what the status will be on T-Mobile rebate status page? It shows me as RECEIVED. How do you know if phone/s are received, inspected, approved for rebate etc? And approximate how many days it took for people to get rebate? Any help? Thanks. May be wiki need to include above questions to avoid repeat questions that I may be doing already.

You should receive and email that your account is credited the trade in cost. Mine hit today for the 6s, $31 deducted from current bill.

I would have bought at least the pro if they had it in stock larger than 64GB but all the pro and max at the stores I was at were 64GB. Thnx for the updated promotion date looks like its extended to the 18th then.

There are no contracts with the carrier so after you get your rebate, you can technically cancel. What did they say would happen to you if you cancled before 6 months? If you're no longer a customer they can't charge you for a phone you technically paid full and clear..
Promotion would be forfeited. The GC amount would be charged back to your card which eventually means that we are paying in full for the device.

Well technically you still have ipod if icloud is off (good for lots of stuff over WiFi). Second, buying used from locals always carries that risk (at least if you buy unlocked it MIGHT be still be used overseas) but yeah there are tons of dishonest and crooks out there and I would at least suggest ebay or something that gives you some guarantee, on the other hand I sell and have good feedback on OfferUP but people still low ball me with stupid low prices (while I post that I'm firm on the price) and I think they deserve the punishment of buying something super cheap from unrated low life's for being inconsiderate to others and not thinking about why someone would sell them something dirt cheap (yes they will get new phone from insurance while you will be stuck with "stolen" goods)

Do you have a link or screenshot of such terms in the agreement (the 6 months requirement)? I know that kiosk people can say it but they also say a lot of BS and can't process this promotion properly sometimes so unless I see it's written on paper I call BS on it.
P.S. Card terms mention that it expires in 6 months but that's the only thing I see mentioned.

Don't listen to this FryGuy. You paid for the phone in full and once you get the rebate, you cash out. After 2-3 months from activations, you can cancel once the 2 above are done and you request the phone to be unlock.

They can't take the money back as there's no where it say you need to stay 6 months on paper. I believe the 6 months was mention by reps for their commission. It could also put you in good standing with Costco so you can participate in another deal down the road within a few months.
