Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.
The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.
It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.
Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!
Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!
Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!
And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

Long story short, Costco Wireless does have some idiots. Ironically, this guy also happens to be the manager. This is after FIVE trips to the THREE trips to the store, and now I will have to go back for a new sim card because T-Mobile will mail me and it takes about a week and might get charged for it. This has definitely been very stressful, and raised my blood pressure. I am already filing complaint with Costco, Wireless Advocates, and T-Mobile. This shouldn't be this difficult.
I am under the impression that you knew how this deal goes since you questioned the rep about adding a line.
You should have walked away and tried at a different time with a different rep or just went to another store.
I tried doing the deal at a store that was packed one day and there was a new employee working. She was being trained and just my luck, she was assigned to me.
Once I noticed she wasn't doing things correctly (I previously did the 'free' iPhone XR deal several times at Costco) I simply said, "I'm so sorry but I have to go". And I left.
There was no way I was risking such a big rebate.
1. Do you must do this deal at physical Costco? Can it be done via website?
2. Do you must have Costco membership to do this deal?
Thank you so much!

Go to a tmobile store to get the same deal but WITH 24 monthly bill credits.
Even taking into account that I'd have to switch to T-Mobile for two months and pay $60/month, that's only an extra $50 in total compared to what I'd be paying anyways for service. Leaving me with the cost of $170 total for a brand new iPhone 11.
What am I missing? This seems to be too good to be true for my 6s!

Some reps are just bad, yours is one of those...!!!
Don't forget to give the real feedback to the survey you receive form them!!!
FYI, even for me it wasn't 100% smooth!
The Costco lady selected "iPhone 6s Plus" as my trade-in phone and so the RMA receipt said the trade-in fair price is $50 (instead of $31).
When I realized it after coming home, I was mad I had to go again, but I did go back just to get this fixed and generate the correct RMA receipt (with the new shipping label).
