Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

When opening a new line and I decide to port over a number later to replace the new number, do I still submit the rebate using the new temporary I receive? TIA

Yes, you have a hardware failure of a chip most likely (sound one I believe), if factory reset didn't solve the issue it's most likely the case. As far as them noticing it will depend on who checks it and how thorough BUT since defect is there they have full right to reject it leaving you without trade in phone or credit, big gamble IMO.

I have an iPhone 8 that I am in the process of getting replaced under CC warranty. The wifi doesn't enable, BT perpetually spins, and calls can only be heard over speakerphone. Cosmetically it looks fine. I'm assuming this will be fine for the trade in and that they won't examine it this closely.

Any thoughts?

if people stopped responding to the same damn long winded posts that have been answered at least 100 times in this thread, it might be a bit more manageable
Don't underestimate those people, they will keep asking even after no response. If you criticize them there will be another like them defending them and doing same thing. IF they would bother read JUST first 5 pages or so they would find answers to most common questions including probably theirsRoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

For the folks still hoping to avail the offer and looking for 6s , Boost mobile has a in-store deal of 6s for $24.99 plus taxes with at least $50 plan and port in. This might be cheaper than some of the other options. However, disclaimer: I have not checked this myself and just sharing what I came across in case it helps someone 🙂.

Thanks. I have already added new line with iPhone 11 and still looking for trade-in phone, so this is very helpful. Do we just need to buy H2O sim or do we need to activate it on some plan as well?

Just to be sure, this is not H2O wireless but another carrier Boost mobile. And yes, you have to port in an existing number (such as H2O or any carrier) and also have plan of at least $50. So if all works out ok, you will get your trade in phone for $75 and additional tax according to where you are buying in store.

If you're going to return an opened phone anyways, do it close to the 90 day mark after you get the rebate card. I did this a few months ago after I realized that getting the XR was a big mistake. Returned it on day 75 after getting the rebase card, bought the got the XS at the same time to reduce shame. No issues.
Does it matter if you still have the original service on the phone or not at that point?

Yes, my questions was more about H20 sim card. Do I just need to buy H2O sim card, nothing else (activation or buy some plan etc.) before I port it to Boost Mobile?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but whenever there's lot of money involved my brain works slowly and I couldn't figure out small things Smilie

Looks like the deal now goes until 11/20. I'm hoping they replace it with some other deal since I have SimpleChoice! Otherwise I need to find some way to open a new acct on Magenta in addition to my SC plan (no way I'm giving that up).

FYI regarding trade-in: I sent my phone in Wednesday and received a text today indicating I received the quoted amount. Pretty quick turn around.

Got it, No worries. I think unless it is a bought H2O existing number for eBay, you will have to add at least $10 and activate H2O service first and then can port that out to Boost. Experts here probably can throw in more light 😃.

Hmm.. sorry, I forgot to add activation fee but not sure how it will still be $145. I guess they can always play hardball and thrust insurance, bigger plan, etc. oh well!

the (not so) short story of the process is this...
you go to the wireless desk, ask for the deal
they start your process with verifying/creating your T-Mo account
they give you a print out purchase request for the purchase of the phone(s).
The phones are locked up in the inventory room, only to be given out after purchased and paid.
you go to the Costco checkout lane and pay for the full price of the phone(s)
---obviously, you need a Costco membership to complete this task..(friends, yours, or whatever)
---if it is a friend's membership, then it is a YMMV by the wireless reps desire to be friendly or not.
---and remember, the Costco membership card has your picture on the back. (unless your friend is really cool and let you use his Costco app already logged in)

go back to the wireless desk and wait for the Costco rep to bring your purchased phone(s) to you there.
activate your phone(s) on the account and make a test call to verify working number.
finish your trade-in paperwork.

EDIT: more added...
don't leave Costco without your trade-in paperwork and shipping label.
--be sure the trade-in's IMEI is absolutely correct. the model and size matters also, but can be corrected later.
go home... wait 12-24 hours for your T-Mo account to update.
log onto your T-Mo account. follow the instructions on the paperwork they gave you.
Fill out the online submit form.
package your trade-in phone (no chargers/cases/cables needed) and put the shipping label on. get a mail tracking/receipt at the mail drop off.
you should usually receive your trade-in credit within 48 hours of delivery.
---if you don't, call T-Mo and ask if they are waiting for you to respond with an offer change/acceptance.
---they have a tracking tool and can tell you exactly what is going on if the delivery was completed.
patiently wait for your rebate card to arrive.
