Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

FYI : When I got the phone the rep told `14 days verbally very clearly .I did not read the contract etc or ask about 90 day return
The paperwork you received clearly states 90 days for returns or exchanges. Nothing about only exchanges from day 15-90.
That's even on a sign that's posted at the kiosk.
The proof you need is in black & white already in your possession.

For everyone asking if the new sim needs to be on the new phone...Iphones support dual Sim. Once you get the phone, go to a tmobile store or contact support, they will move the new sim to the Esim in the phone, and then you can put your old Sim (w/ your old phone #) in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on 1 phone...you can even have 2 completely different services on 1 phone. I currently run Tmobile and Verizon off one phone.
Wow really? Isn't TMobile branded iPhone that needs to be unlocked first? Surprised to learn verizon sim is working for you

Update: on my previous post in which the rep refused to process a return within the 90 day return period. I called the number the rep provided me, and of course the the same rep answered. They told me to call again tomorrow (which is what she had told me the day before) and her manager should be in, but that she had already talked to her manager and that they agreed there was nothing they could do and that I would have to try to get the refund through the carrier.

After bombarding wireless advocates twitter and any associated email I could find, I finally got a customer support number (1-888-369-5931). None of their sites or social media have a number or email of course. I explained the situation to the rep on the phone and they absolutely agreed that I was correct, but that could not handle the return over the phone/email. I would have to go to the kiosk to process the return. They suggested either trying another Costco or going to the same Costco and then having the rep call the 888 number and have them explain it to the rep over the phone.

Part of me wants to go to the same rep and rub it in their face. Part of me wants to just go to another Costco that will probably process the return no problem. I guess I'll decide based on how bad traffic is tomorrow.
Man I would 100% to go the same rep. She's trying to get over you.

Basically yes, unless you are on the west coast, near a Costco with the exact iphone(s) you want to buy actually in stock, and have the trade-in info ready to go.

If I want to port in a number, can I choose to get a new number first then port in afterwards or do I need to port in at Costco right then and there? Will it affect the rebate? Thanks
Do you know if it is ok to port later without affecting the rebate?

Wasted almost 2 hours at the Store today. The Costco rep was unable to add a new line to my account. Getting an error "Customer is on FlexPay.. and call Customer Care". Was on call with Customer care for almost 2 hours, they even changed my plan etc. But Costco system unable to add a Line, and same error with no details. Very much frustrated this being the last day of the promo. Returned empty handed.

There are specific flexpay instructions in the wiki. Did you suggest those steps to the representative?

Would switching to esim make unlocking the phone or porting out difficult in the future?

It didn't work for me, after poring the number to esim I put my att card getting sim not supported error. So phone has to be unlocked which won't happen before 40 days

For those who want to print the shipping label or check trade in status. But allow 48 hours after the purchase to get the order reflected in tmobile system.

Check the status of your trade-in:
Log in to My T-Mobile.
Select "My PHONE" on the top menu bar.
Select Trade-in status, and then select Track Item or Print shipping label for the phone you're trading in.

Check your assessed device trade-in value:
Go to My T-Mobile and log in to your account.
In the Order Status page, you can review the actual value of your trade-in device.
Click More details to see the assessed value changed details.
You may accept the assessed value of the device or request to have your device returned to you.
Returned devices will ship within 5 business days.
You may keep your new device or return it to T-Mobile.
