There was a comment / complaint from a member earlier in the thread (sorry don't know how to search within a thread).

The complaint - they received a full bill in a matter of few days and thought this meant the first payment was applied only for a partial month.

But from what I can see - NO T-Mobile service charges were taken at COSTCO when I got the phone. Only paid for the phone and any extended warranties (Square Trade) The Rep mentioned something about TMO having some fixed billing days - so I would get into one of these slots. My billing started the day after. So got a full bill a few days later. But the day of the service was not charged at all!

No way to confirm the Reps comment about a few fixed billing slots - but definitely no over charging. if there are fixed slots, then certainly some folks may hot gotten more than 1 day of free service that I got.

Wasted almost 2 hours at the Store today. The Costco rep was unable to add a new line to my account. Getting an error "Customer is on FlexPay.. and call Customer Care". Was on call with Customer care for almost 2 hours, they even changed my plan etc. But Costco system unable to add a Line, and same error with no details. Very much frustrated this being the last day of the promo. Returned empty handed.
Ouch. Did you at least get your old rate plan back ?

In future if this happens again. Process is you call t mobile from costco store with the costco rep near you. Costco rep needs to explain the tmobile rep what is going on. Costco rep should tell t mobile rep to add a line in your account and assign a new phone number but do not activate a sim. Costo rep needs to provide IMIE number and sim information from the store. Once that data is input by t mobile rep you are good to go. Costco rep should be able to generate rebate and all other paperwork.

In short, Tmobile rep needs to add a line in your existing acct with the IMIE and sim information from the Costco store
It will be a lengthy phone conversation. You need to get 2 cooperative reps who are willing to help you

Yeah.. costco rep insisted he needs to open the line. TMOBILE rep offered that he can open the line for me. I missed that the SIM can be from Costco and that should work.

I have tried to keep up with the thread, but sorry if I missed something. My question:

1. I understand that we have to be with T-Mo for 40-days before phones will be unlocked. I have 2-lines, and need to get one phone unlocked before 40-days as I am traveling out of country. Does anyone know if T-Mo will unlock one phone before 40-days. I know, I can reach out to T-Mo twitter for better experience, but wanted to see if anyone here knows from past experience. And, it also leads to me second question:

2. Let's say T-Mo unlocks one phone before 40-days, will it have any effect on the rebate? Don't want to mess this big rebate Smilie.

Thanks for your help.

You can try your luck for international unlock. Unlock doesn't affect the rebate.

For everyone asking if the new sim needs to be on the new phone...Iphones support dual Sim. Once you get the phone, go to a tmobile store or contact support, they will move the new sim to the Esim in the phone, and then you can put your old Sim (w/ your old phone #) in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on 1 phone...you can even have 2 completely different services on 1 phone. I currently run Tmobile and Verizon off one phone.

Would switching to esim make unlocking the phone or porting out difficult in the future?
I'm wondering the same. If i switch to eSIM, is this number will be locked to the phone after I close the T-mobile account?

T-Mobile received both of my 6s plus phones. However, they gave the bill credit for only one phone. Any one know the number call to find out actual status?

Be patient...give it another day or 2.
