Someone came in and thumbs downed every single post in this thread. This deal certainly rustled someone's jimmies. Have a thumbs back up on me.

I found this video useful, he compares 16:9 to ultra-wide for gaming:

Now gaming isn't everything, but if that's your focus may be worth a watch.

I have the same monitor but last years model. For many triple A games I would recommend at least a 2070 or better for this resolution if you want to play triple a games. If you are looking to get high FPS for shooters I would advise a 2080 or better.

Does Dell still offer a partial credit to keep an item after initiating a return?

Can someone explain why this is better than the 34GK950*? Seems close on specs.

What is the difference between this and the AW3418 aside from the exterior design/stand, color gamut, and 120hz vs 100hz native refresh? Seems like a pretty underwhelming upgrade.

This monitor has gone on sale a few times. I bought mine when it was $799 with a $75 Dell gift credit.

I have a 1080Ti and most games run maxed just fine. A few games need minor tweaks, but not enough to noticeably distract from visuals.

Yeah so FPS wise the 1080 ti better than a 2070 and about the same as a 2080. The advantage for the newer cards is mainly ray tracing.

I signed up here [dell.com]. It took 10 or 15 minutes to get the coupon.

How does or would this compare to running a 3 monitor setup? Are there benefits or negatives to either?

Nice! Congrats man!

Jumping from a 720p ey? Wow, you will be stoked when you get it set up lol.

I moved from a 3440p ultra wide Dell u3415w ... I am stoked about the refresh rate and gsync.. no more screen tearing hopefully!
Ever since I upgraded my PC (~2 years ago to date) I have been slowly watching the panels that have showed up on the market. I used the previous generation of this monitor (AW3418DW) at a friend's house and thought it was the best thing ever.

I will be driving it with a 1080ti which hopefully will suffice until the gsync2 monitors and new cards get released.
