Dell is having a limited sale on their monitors including the new Alienware AW3420DW for $1000 + Tax & free shipping. (Normal is $1,500 + Tax)
Native 120 Hz refresh rate and is 34 inch gaming monitor with the full colors brought by IPS Nano Color (98% DCI-P3) technology and a 2ms response time. Featuring a 1900R WQHD resolution and 21:9 display ratio.
Biggest differences between this model an the older AW3418DW is the native 120Hz refresh rather than 100Hz OC to 120Hz found on the old, 98% DCI-P3 color, 2ms response time rather than 4ms, and an updated stand.
This price is less than the comparable Freesync LG panel.

Go on Amazon and read the recent reviews. All point to the same issue with scan lines. Google the scan line issue too. LG customer service is terrible across the entire range of products.
Your choice is your choice. I'm just trying to educate potential buyers of the reasoning behind my decision.
This display though is crippled, and not a good deal at $950. Not when the LG F version clocks to 144hz and is fine running adaptive sync on all cards.
Bu If you fancy Dell then I would consider the 3418dw , forego the ~100 nits in brightness for basically the same specs and save a few hundreds. That one can be had for like around 600 on sale. But If you want the best then grab the LG F model which has been as low as $750. This at $950 doesn't make much sense maybe at around 750 to match LG's version, unless u value that 3yr warranty at over 200 bux
edit: looks like it stacks with various perks and in that case sure you could make it a v good deal as long as youre not paying 950 + tax with no other discounts/cash back

Same panels means what? Thats like saying, i bought a bmw cuz it using X shocks. Manufacturers use parts from each other all the time. Its about how they put it together and make it work. The better quality from dell is its overall reliability and better picture quality. As far as price being good or not is another conversation. But, this Dell is indeed better than that LG, the whole build is better quality, period.
Btw, you do realize a good portion of that extra $200 is cuz of gsync, maybe its better to complain to nvidia if its a price thing.
Ive had both monitors, i sold the LG and kept the Dell (close to 2 years) for a reason. Theres a visual difference between the two. I was also able to buy the Dell at $800, and I have a good feeling that price point will come back again on black friday. So anyone that doesnt need a new monitor now, it may be worth it to wait a few weeks.

Anyway heres a panel comparison and interestingly enough, the Dell is actually dimmer, and I can also confirm that with my current Dell because my aw3418dw is not as bright as my Acer x34p.

good luck with your purchase

Not even a year yet on my Acer Predator x34p for $700. Not worth the upgrade for me.
