Also, I remember reading somewhere best buy price matching any black Friday deals bought between now and BF, meaning you don't technically have to wait till then. I believe Amazon does it too as well as some other places

The Polks look 10x better, but @ this price, I'm giving the Sony's a shot, esp since I have their Core Atmos Speakers already. The Polks S15's are currently on sale for $150 which is a great price too.
Has anyone heard both?

I've only heard the Polks in-store, so my opinion probably doesn't mean much, but they and the cores seem comparable to me. I know some over at AVS have both and liked the Polk S15s a little more, but it's not like it was a huge difference. If you decide to stick with the Polks, the S30 probably is the better center to go with by the way -- if you can fit it.
If it was me, I'd say go for the Cores and spend the money saved on a decent subwoofer. Or go for a center mismatch and upgrade there, Core center may be okay, but there is room for improvement.

I had the Polk S15s for a couple years and I helped my dad buy and set up the Sonys. Both are very good but I would give the edge to the Polks with the S30. They have a bit more midbass and I think they sound a little better. The polks are amazing and I think best bang for your buck when they come on sale.

Your advice about the center caught my eye.
Wondering if I could use one of these sony bookshelf speakers as my center. Any thoughts?
