Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

One thing about this card I didn't realize until a few months later was you will not receive any cash back on any balance paid before you receive the statement. So make sure to always wait until the end of the billing cycle to pay to receive the other 1% for paying.
That's not true, you may want to check your statement again.
Purchases and payments are tracked by two trackers.
Any payment you made will be added to the payment tracker no matter if it is before or after your statement date.
All you have to do is to make sure the purchase is posted before you make a payment.
(Pending purchases been paid will not be added to the tracker, thus no 1% cash back on those payments)

Just got this card. Fico was around 700 at the time, was given $3,600 starting limit. My income is on lower end and only 2 years of creditc history though so it makes sense. Highest card I have is $5,000. The 3% balance transfer fee sucks though.

I never though about using the card benefits before, but it was always in the back of my mind that my cards had some kind of protection. Unfortunately recently on a trip I had some items stolen. I called citi only to find out they canceled ALL the benefits of this card near the end of last year.... without notifying me... I am now looking to cancel this card, even if it was 1% back instead of 2% if it has protection i'd take it over this any day. I don't think I'd recommend this card to anyone at this moment after what just happened.

I cancelled this card, after they took away all their travel and price protections last month. They also push their new banking service heavily, so you'll get pop-up ads constantly, and a never-ending stream of junk mail pushing their savings account and sending you 'convenience' checks. There's also a minimum redemption for cash back, $25.

I switched to a 1.5% BECU cash back credit card, so I get their decent interest for savings and checking, and the convenience of paying off the card from the same banking app or website, as well as usual credit card protection that Citi eliminated. No spam, no ads, no huge multinational bank that was heavily involved in the subprime mortgage meltdown and received billions in bailout money.
Exactly. I'd take 1.5% with protections over this citi card any day. Thanks for the info I'm going to look into switching to this.

Just checked. My Chase Freedom Unlimited, Chase Amazon Prime signature and Capital One Quicksilver have all the benefits you could ask for. Even no foreign transaction fee on the Quicksilver. You have to have excellent credit for these cards but the Citi double cash card had these benefits and then took them away 3 days later is what pissed me off. The lower end cards of course will not have these benefits. I won't get a card with no extended warranty.
Thanks for this I have the amazon prime signature already, and had a freedom card, gonna switch to the freedom unlimited.

They absolutely notified you.

In June 2019, Citi emailed cardholders to disclose the benefits which are being cut from each card
There were also notifications in paper statements for folks who still get (but usually don't read) those.

This was my daily card until they removed all the extra card benefits. I've switched to my Fidelity rewards credit card. 2% cash back deposited to your fidelity account(I opened their free account just to get the cashback). It's a Visa Signature card so it has all the Visa Signature benefits like Purchase Protection, Extended Warranty, rental insurance(secondary), travel insurance, etc.
I kept the Citi Double card only for to generate Virtual Account numbers when I need them.
Good reminder to keep it for the virtual card feature.

This is dumb but can I transfer balance from Chase Sapphire Reserve to Chase Slate? Or would I have to transfer to DiscoveryIT instead? I really want to consolidate my credit card balances.
BankAmericard is zero fee, zero interest for 15 months. They will pay off Chase loans.
