Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

It would be great if this didn't have a transfer fee and could deposit cash into bank account since I have no credit card and car loan debt to make use of this offer.

got approved for the Costco Citi card a week ago, decided to try for this too. got denied, but I called and found out its because experien was locked, reapplied only gave me 3k limit. surprising but it is what it is.

is there a thing as too many cards open? I have 4 USAA, 1 Apple Card, 1 Citi Costco, and now 1 citi double cash back.

In general- no. I've got dozens of open cards from doing signup bonuses for example and a credit score well north of 800.

The problem is when you want to apply for specific cards, you have to open them in a specific order.

For example Chase will deny all applications if you've opened 5 or more personal cards (from ANYBODY not just chase) in the last 24 months.

Each back has their own, often quite different, rules around this so you need to be aware before you lock yourself out of certain cards and bonuses (for at least some amount of time)

our names are eerily similar. thanks for the info, I dont really care about bonuses, I just get them because of the perks. ie. my visa signature will still be used to buy high value appliances due to extended warranty, Apple Card for apple products 3%. I waited too long to apply for USAA limitless, 2.5% everything, I was pampering my credit and day I went to apply it was pulled off the site.

I always wondered the guys who had the card if they eventually lost their benefits or they keep 2.5 for life. or maybe til card expired, and won't be renewed?

Any idea what their CL's are? I'm contemplating the 2% Citi DC.. Most spend is with the AZ card but already max out the CL every month and don't want to cycle. Would love a nice backup ... even though I won't get the 5%. Citi DC is tempting as I may get rid of the Prestige.

I am seeking a credit card recommendation which isn't for me but for someone else so perhaps if I give you a profile you could help me pick a card for this person.

a) Cannot afford to meet the spending requirements for a bonus from a premium card so that is out of the question. Now that we got that out of the way:
b) Wants a cash back or rewards that also generates a cash equivalent
c) No annual fee
d) Phone insurance is good
e) Makes one foreign trip a year so not having foreign exchange fees is a plus
f)Trip cancellation insurance is good
g) Damage and theft insurance is desirable
i) Car rental insurance would be nice but not essential

The shortlist so far is:
1) Chase Freedom Flex (checks all the boxes with the only exception that it has a 3% foreign exchange fee)
2) BOA Cash Rewards (for the higher rate of earnings based on the second tier but it may only offer cash rebates and not the other features)
3) Citi Double Cash (2% earnings but it may not offer features)
4) Costco Anytime Visa (seems to check most boxes but may not offer trip cancellation insurance, and does not offer phone insurance)

Dammit, if only the Freedom Flex offered no foreign exchange fees it would have been no-brainer. Now it involves compromises. Any suggestions?

Also, do any Capital One cards fulfill the conditions above?
Will the Freedom Flex come with a sign on bonus?

Wouldn't that mean that Paypal Mastercard is far superior to the Double Cash. Which bank issues this card?

a) Annual spend on potential card about $7K
a2): Wants single card for all spend (no multiple cards so 1 size fits all scenario)

Reached to Citi today and asked about extended warranty benefit. The double cash card no longer provides extended warranty. However the Costco Citi card still has the extended warranty benefit
That COSTCO card also has no international fees.

Just an FYI, if you also have the CITI Premier or Prestige you can convert the cash back to rewards points instead. This effectively gets you 2pts/$1 spent. If you travel and know the tricks about redeeming points for airline tickets, then this is kind of a game changer.
How can you effectively get 2 points for $1 spend? Explain

>>>If you travel and know the tricks about redeeming points for airline tickets, then this is kind of a game changer.

Care to elaborate?
