Thanks for the info. IMO, if you truly want a gaming laptop, don't settle for 60 Hz. Go for at least a 120 Hz - 144 Hz display. It's quite possible to get one for under $900. Happy hunting!
Excellent price. Was almost there, but only a 60hz display Frown

Hard pass.
Confirmed 60hz 250 nits screen with ASUS tech support. I hate Best Buy.

For this specific, it's hard to find one with everything though.

True - I'm looking for a laptop I can take on the road with me and game at 120 FPS with its screen. You can easily hook up a nice monitor to this laptop and game at a higher frame rate. The issue is once you lock yourself in with a laptop and its screen, you're going to be stuck with that screen for the rest of its life cycle.

Are you certain it's 60hz? Asus website suggest 144hz?

I see the ASUS response on BB site to q&a, but I still question refresh rate. Below is taken straight from their website. The 60hz panel would have a GT in the model number and this one is GU (G731GU-BI7N9). GU in the model number only has 120hz and 144hz per their website. Something doesn't add up here...

17.3-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS-level panel, 144Hz, 3ms, 100% sRGB (GU/GV/GW)
17.3-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS-level panel 120Hz (GT/GU/GV)
17.3-inch Full HD (1920x1080) IPS-level panel 60Hz (GT)
